So, I have a frame rail question. With my current 6x6 build, the frame rails are pretty tall (1.5in if I remember correctly), so I was thinking of notching the front and rear to help with apprach angle so the front dosen't get caught up on every rock I try to approach the frame rails will still meet the 3in longer than wheelbase rule of course.

Pic of the unfinished truck (will be C2):

And a mockup of what I mean:

I don't see why not, as long as the length is still Ok, but thought i'd check.

Requesting a scoring assist. This is the truck:

Build thread here:

Mighty FC-ish

Local series caps C2 at -50, this is what I've come up with:

Truggy -4
Exo -3
Integrated shock mounts -1 (only the front mount counts, correct?)
Hard body cab -4
Inner fenders -1 (not installed yet but will be in before the week is out)
Metal bumper -3
Stinger/grill guard -1
3D interior w/ 2 seats -4
Driver, ankles up -3
CMS -5
Exterior items -6 (same as fenders, not all there but in before the week is out: battery, wipers, toolbox, highlift, hubs, first aid)
Functional items -8

That brings me to -43. What I'm wondering about is the -1 for rigid body panels, I'm not sure what's meant by this exactly but does either the cab back or the motor/trans doghouse count? Also, for sliders, does the bottom of the exo around the cab count and if so does it matter that there's no slider past the cab where none is needed? Anything else I've missed?

I've got to think about this tonight.

I have always counted sliders as anything that protects the majority of the lower edge of the body. Be it flat, tube, or plate - As long as it does the job.
Just worked out in your favor that it is a small body.

I'd say the jeepish has sliders.

Not the builder's fault the body chosen is short on stuff to bang on rocks.

If we're going to get all technical about stuff, what about the exposed battery? ;)

• All vehicles should have the motor, transmission, and electronics covered and hidden when viewed from the top and sides. Batteries must be chassis mounted and should be hidden from view.
Nothing to get technical about, although looking at the level of build - I am pretty sure he plans on hiding it before any comp. He did just finish it, give the guy a break.

I was just poking some fun. I just got a chuckle from picking out the finer details of sliders when the battery was just out there in plain site.
Hard to believe it's not a 50 point rig really.

50 pts turned out to be a pretty tall order with just 2 seats and the truggy rear end. Cuts me out of bumper, tube bed, headache rack, 2nd row seating, 2nd row cage, extra passengers, rear shock mounts, etc. I'm at 46 now, may add a lightbar giving me another -1 but I think that's where it's going to stop. No other points awarding changes I'm willing to make at this point. I'm satisfied.

Looks great.
I know what you are going through, I got my truck in the 40's easily but had to do a little work to get it all the way.

Probably a silly question, but would there be any hurdles to running one truck, with two different sets of tires in both C1 and C2 (presuming it fits in the specs for both classes), other than having to get it teched twice? IE rock beasts on for C2 and some 1.7 iroks for c1.

I wouldn't think so, but figured I'd ask before I go buy some c1 tires.

You would be running a Class1 truck in class2 basically. Guys do it, but it all depends on the event.
