Rules say electronics should be hidden from top and sides..

Personally I would add inner fenders for the scale points.

Inner fenders or a model motor cut around the servos or both for 5 points!!

"should" is a suggestion and is not mandatory, Rules were designed to allow imagination, create scale appearances, and reward performance limiting factors....

You are good as it sits, but I do like the suggestions that have been made.

Any neg points for a scratch/custom built bed? Didn't see anything in the rules about that, only a scratch build body. Also, it may be a reach but what about portals for my Unimog build?

Thanks.

If it is a tube bed....yes

If you really stretched your imagination I am sure you could be given a point for the portals under exterior scale points

Didnt you already ask this somewhere before ?

Is there going to be a class for Wraith based rigs? or KOH with Wraith axles?

As Tommy stated, those axials are great in C3. There will also be a king of Lucia event that a rig based off that platform will excell in

Edit : There will be 2 classes of KOL ran on Sat.

You will want good boots or shoes (you will be running). There as much mud and water as possible.

A few things about the rules for this competition:

* Vehicle must fit 2012 SORCCA scale rules.

1.9 Class must fit Class 1 or 2 rules.

2.2 Class must fit Class 3 rules.

* You should have a winch. If you don't have one, you will need to run with a partner that is willing to help you through the tough sections. You must right your vehicle with a winch (if you roll over) or talk someone else into righting your rig for you with their vehicle. Sorry....no hand of God in this one.

* Vehicle should be waterproof or fairly water resistant. There will not be any sections where you HAVE to go through water deeper than 2"', but the fast line may be deeper than that. In other words, if your rig is waterproof, you will have an advantage.

* The start will be a mass start for each class. This will be a timed event, first person over the finish line wins. No actual judges on course, but we will have people on course handing out playing cards at 5 different checkpoints. You must have all 5 cards at the finish or you are disqualified. Best hand in each class wins a cool prize.

* You may drive over other vehicles and bump them out of the way, but good sportsmanship will be appreciated.

* You must drive through the gates without touching them. If you touch a gate, you must drive around and drive back through them until you do it without touching them. If you knock a gate over or move it you must replace it before progressing.

* Battery replacement is fine but must be done on course along with all repairs. No removing rigs and carrying them off course for any reason.....you must carry tools and parts on you during the race.

This will give you an idea of what the KOL will be about. Registration will be at the same time as registration for Class 1,2,and 3. The KOL will have a lower cost than the classes and therefore won't include an event t-shirt.

I am thinking about running 2 steering servos in front and 2 steering servos in the rear in my class three rig. Does that mean I can get 14 points? Just thought I would ask because it doesn't state a limit.

Quote:
Suspension/drivetrain/steering:
• Leaf springs (front/rear): -3 ea, -7 both.
• Multiple axles: 3 driven axles -3, 4 (or more) driven axles -5
• Chassis mounted steering servo: -5 (front) -2 (rear) *rear= Class 3 only*
Functional transfer case: -4.
• 3D engine: -4
.

No, -5 for the front, -2 for the rear. Max of -7....maybe I should put that in writing.

Sounds like removing the word "servo" would suffice, Tim.

Thanks Tim...I blame my question on the fact I live so close to Devlin.

BTW, nice job setting this event up, I know you will be great at it.

Seriously?? We are building our new supers now with only one 7980. And that is plenty for 8" tires( w/proper steering geometry). Can't see where one would need dual steering servos on even a class three w/a 5.75 tire
