I've got the SCX aluminum scaler shocks on my build and Ryan(IttyBitty) told me heavy oil. All I had on hand was some good ole Hydrualic oil. My knuckle weights that I made are close to 1lb a piece. Do you think that is to much?

I agree with jeremy about limiting the travel though. Mine is probably on par with jeremy's in the 6" tire lift range.

Also...i notice that your rear axle looks like its clocked back quite a bit. You're goin to want to level that out with either longer rear lowers or shorter uppers.

yeah i'll need to shorten the rear uppers.

I dont know. I have just been adjusting mine by "feel" I am shooting for the same type of leverage feel that I get from my 2.2. Since these trucks have quite a bit more leverage (from the center of the axles) than the 2.2, I began increasing resistance....

Hmm...good information coming out in here about shock and suspension set up. Currently my rig has the black MRC springs on the front and blue MRC on the rear. All four are internally sprung as well. The rears are sacked out at ride height and the fronts are sucked down about half way. I was wondering about limiting the travel even more...I just don't have enough time and patience on the days that I actually get to go crawling...I just want to drive it!

I'm running it for the first time in a comp situation this weekend so maybe that'll give me a better idea what I need to work on.

Man i'm having fits trying to get these 7980's to fit between the axle tubes and the motor can. Even with a 14t pinion there is no way to get the gears to mesh.
I even ground down the small radius off the back of the tube flush with the flat top area.
From reading jeremy's and sven's threads they seem to not have this issue. Anyone got any suggestions?
It looks like i would have to grind the tube into the threaded holes on the backside to get it to fit.

What motors are you running? Any motor skid material between the can and the servo?

With the motor installed?

How thick is that servo mount? Sven's mount is two piece and looks to be about double the thickness of yours...

I CAN INSTALL THE MOTOR BUT CANNOT GET IT CLOSE ENOUGH TO ENGAGE THE GEARS, AND THE DELRIN IS 2- 1/4" THICK PIECES

Even if i used 3/8" delrin it would'nt get the servo any closer to the tube, i'm up flush against the tube now.

Hummm......are you SURE that you have the 65:1 gearboxes? If you look at them from the non-motor side, they should have three round circles...

Yep, those are the 65:1 gearboxes...

I really dont know what the problem can be. The only other thing that I can think of is to try the other set of mounting holes on the motor....that might push the motor up some and give you more room.

tried both jeremy, the center line of the motor shaft will stay the same distance.
