sorry I been slacking....

Erik and I have been brainstorming about cutting out some chassis flex and still not gaining tons of weight...Erik sent me some pics of this beauty that he came up with....he did an amazing job on this piece

its simple but works really well it weighs just under .5oz and there's room to cut that weight more and still keep the rigidness...
with that X-brace the chassis is right about 3.25oz but that was with steel screws....

Erik also cut me out a 1/32" delrin skid.....it's a bit floppy....but I like it

I also got my other shocks and mounted them...they are 4" but I had to limit them a ton! no worries ti seems to cycle really smooth so.....
I also picked up a used 7980...I did not want to mess with taking the 7980 I had on my 2.2...

I cant help but snap a pic of this thing.....i'm just loving the "look" of it

So did you end up with a single 7980 on front and rear then?

to me the relation of your front cross brace and your rear cross brace shows you still have way to much torsional chassis flex and it is not rigid at all

...the carbon fiber most likely wont help in that extreme of a circumstance... i would hate to see you tear the whole rear of your car off...

so we tried a few other things to stiffen this chassis up but it's just not enough.....We wanted to try and go as lite as possible for this chassis but it was just a bit to much.....
Erik reworked the drawing and came up with a few other things to try...should have the new chassis next week.....I'm confident this one will be plenty stiff....might even have room to take some away...no biggy..thats how this game works and thats what makes it fun...build it ...try it...work the bugs out

thanks to Erik for putting up with me

The X-brace would have to be more vertical to help with the torsional rigidity. Not sure if it would be enough, but what about another x-brace up the roll bar section of the chassis?

Would aluminum be to heavy for what your shooting for?
This chassis is so bad ass looking, hope ya get it figured out.

Thats actually what the X was built for. Mark said it made it less rigid though.

Rather than keep adding things on and make it look like a bunch of pieces were added on, we are going to rework the whole design.

DAMMIT!!! There's a reason I've stayed outta the super section. Sexy, BADASS builds like this make me wanna finish collecting my parts & build one already.

I think I'm gonna move to Utah so Erik can fabricate ME all kinds of parts to build MY super with.

DAMMIT!!! Nice build man. Very nice build.

i know right?!?!?....its coming fast...I had family in town all week so I did not get anything done on it other then picking up the final round of parts I need for Part 1 of the build...
I dropped my mock up links off to Dlux and I also dropped the skid off so Erik can work in some tabs to support the front half of the skid.

lucky for me I got a text from Dlux just a couple hours ago letting me know I could come by and pick up the new version of the chassis on my way home from work tonight....should go togather fast now......pics soon as I get the chassis bolted up
