Default EeePee's CR-01

Thanks, in for the chance.

Built it by the book, then started to take unneeded parts off. Cause that's how I roll.

Ran it stock, and then started with the little tweaks. I stole JIA's rear suspension tweak, and think it's an improvement. And since I'm running lightweight electronics, I swapped the springs front to rear. So now the stiffer are in the back.

Gotta do the body paint job still...

Smashed some electronics in it:

Tekin FXR controller RULES
MaxAmps 1100 mah 2S Lipo
Spextrum SR3000 receiver
Airtronics 361 servo

And, it's fast, too fast as it comes stock so that'll need some fixin. Actually, it won't go slow enough. So that's what really be needin a fixin. It's a little bouncy, a bit top heavy, and needs some real tires. Otherwise, it's fun!

More to come as I tweak and tune and run and beer it up!

Are you going to put some sort of crossmember back there to keep the chassis rigid and less like a noodle?

I'm about halfway done building mine...

Stock motor? Get something in there with a round comm and you will go slower, even it if it a 20t.

I kinda thought the stock tires work great!! Driving JIA's at ECC was probably the coolest crawler kit I have ever driven. It even lasted 5 minutes, which is alot considering.

I dunno. I doubt it, but if it becomes a problem, yeah maybe I will. Seems okay though. I'll be running the FJ body I think, and that'll put the rear crossbrace that holds the body posts between the frame rails, so I should be good.

Probably, eventually.

Yep, kit supplied silver can, as usual. But bet your butt I'll be trying other motors out, including the 10T Cobalt Puller if it'll fit. Might hit the upper links. It was nice of Tamiya to include a few extra driveshafts.

Yeah man, more than anything, it's a fun truck. Gotta remember the fun part of the hobby sometimes, not just the competitions all the time.

I need some time to sit and stare at it to do some thinking first.

I'm really leaning towards the lazy all black, just like the other 5 black RCs I have.

Maybe flat black the outside?

And finally!

I used my year old unpainted Proline Wacker. Not bad I guess. All black with a silver rear fender flare painted on the outside, and in case I don't like it I can use brake fluid and get rid of it. I saved the Tamiya body because I think I want someone who's skilled to paint it. Unlike myself.

It definately a fun truck to cruise around the neighborhood with. It's fast enough to be funny.
