I have and have been very pleased. I put 10* timing into the motor and kept the 13T on it and no problems yet. Motor has been running very smooth with cooler temps then the Tekin.

I actually had to retard the timing on the can since my tranny is flipped and the motor runs in reverse. Just thought Id mention that in case anyone else does the flip trick.

Interesting...i was just thinking about adding more weight to my rear's till I caught this reading through this thread. I really dont have much drive time with my LNC yet so maybe I'll leave it and just practice, practice, practice. Have added 6 1/2 oz to front and 1 1/2 to rear the way it sits now.

I've gotten to like a big front weight bias, it really helps when you gotta smash up something. Helps get those front tires up there. With a good amount of weight in the back, it had a harder time.

I have 6 ounces more in each front than in each back. 7 ounces each front, and 1 ounce in each rear.

I have other wheels with 3 ounces added that I used to run, but I'm liking the newer set up lately.

Ya, ok. hmm....I definitely see a need for new tires and foams now too, almost seems like these rock claws are worn out or something; just dont seem to climb stuff like they used to. but with added weight and all that... maybe its just me trying harder stuff then I used too now too. anyways, an interesting read this thread has been, gave me a lot to think about!

Looking good, I see you left the center "V" in the chassis. You planning on attaching it to the CF? I think it would help take away the slight amount of flex I'm seeing in whats left of the stock chassis. What you really need is a 1pc CF dig servo mount that doubles as a front crossmember

Yup thinking of using the 'V' as a tuning tool .... and prevention against snapping a side.

Well its been a crazy week getting everything together for our opening day of the outdoor season but it was worth the wait and rush.

First job was to test my threading skills .......... 3/16 stainless rod

Then came the sexy ......... Carbon Fiber

Did a little mock up to see where the cutting would start

stock chassis side

new carbon fiber side

and after some steady dremeling

what I took off

Now before I did anything I wanted to prep the CF edges. Going back to the old days of Sedan racing I pulled out the sand paper and CA. Using some fine grit I smoothed the edges out and sealed them with the CA. This helps to prevent any possibility of the layers splitting.

before

after

so before I took anything on old faithful apart I weighed it

front axle = 795g

rear = 596g

overall = 1383g

stock shock 20.1g

Traxxas Rustler front shock 14.6g

and what was left after a bit of wrenching

rear axle back together

and some nice bent rear links

new front servo plate ....... oooooo CF

needing a place to mount the electronics I used the CDW battery plate ....... with the frame moved forward now I had to trim it...... just a 1/4''

and trim the front prop shaft down

and all together

esc and rx in place with the CDW FMD (Front Mount Dig)

Thanks to Killswitch too for the deans trick

and some creative wiring
