Granted, I was simply installing Axial Bomber kit Baja T/A tires, but all 5 (Yay! Scored a spare Incision Method MR307 direct from Vanquish) mounted up over CI 5.5' DD Comp-cut inner/Medium outer foams with zero issues..... and that was my very FIRST time installing on beadlocks. |

Anyone try to "sand" or "scrape" the ring dimples on the all black methods to make them look more like the real deal like these? I tried on one of my beaters where I already sanded the ring. I used the non bit end of a 1/16" drill bit to scrape it. I would do this on an unsanded ring version. Thoughts? |

I've seen a bunch of people sand the anodizing off.

I am talking about just sanding the dimples to make them silver with a black ring so they look like the ring bolts on the real one.

I will be getting the Incision KMC Grenades on my SCX10 II. I am planning on doing exactly what you are suggesting. This will make it look more true to the 1:1 version of the wheels. I have already done this on the dimples on my ARB diff covers for my AR40 axles and it turned out perfect. I just used a small drill bit and twisted by hand. Easy and clean. The diff covers look more scale now ...the wheels will too. Last edited by powder4breakfast; 01-07-2017 at 04:22 PM. |

Sadly I didn't think of that; but, I may as well start with sharpie. I can always scrape it if I don't feel it's right.

Here it is with a sharpie. It turned out okay but the sharpie is more of a paint. So it was kinda difficult to put on without caking of the paint. Thoughts? |

Here they are.... So I got better with my application technique after the first one. The best way is to hold the marker vertical and just continuously tap the center of the hole until the paint from the marker eventually fills it. This creates a nice even coat. You will have to do two coats. If you try to "color" the hole you will absolutely hit the edge of it and there will be capillary action drawing the paint on to the surface of the ring. Not a big deal because you can scrap it off with your finger nail, but a pain. Also, if you try to color it, the coat can come out chunky. With that said, I am not sure how "permanent" this mod will be going through mud and water. May have to do touch up every now and then. I did run it through water and applied a tooth brush to the holes. The paint stayed on pretty good. Overall, I am pleased with the outcome. |

[IMG][/IMG] I picked up my wheels last week and just got around to checking them out tonight. I started with a sharpie; but, I was unable to paint within the lines. I ended up making a mess of the first 3 holes, gave up and moved to the drill bit method. 1/16" drill bit. Personally, I like them better with the holes drilled out or sharpied compared to black. Adds more contrast to the wheel and looks more like the 1:1 for sure. |

Very nice! Did you need to "flatten" the point of the drill bit?

I did not. I ended up removing a tiny bit of material (aluminum) from each hole, not just paint. As I started, it made a little ring around the outside of the hole. I had to drill enough to make it one clean round circle. So technically, I made each hole a tiny bit wider. One size smaller than 1/16" would be perfect; but, that was the smallest bit I had with me in my truck while traveling for work. |

You guys both did a nice job, i like them much better like that. Just enough contrast to bring out the detail in the wheels. I would do this to mine as well. |

| Re: New Incision wheels coming.... I want to correct this....The wheels werent my problem. It was the Pitbull ABX tires. I removed them today and put on some RBXLs and they went right on with no drama.
