I skimmed the thread and didn’t find what program you are using to model your parts, can you post what program you are using. Also is the ring and pinion you made a true bevel gears? I ask because I had a hell of a time drawing this:

If they are true bevel gears could you please elaborate on how you drew the tooth profile?

Thanks... I am using a slightly older program called IronCAD 3D... it wasnt a big seller because it cam out as the solidworks and autdesk were the big names.. but its very good for most things.. Tube work on it is horrid..!

In my software there is a "tooling" option.. In there I have many things that you can use once you pick the features.. One thing is gears.. So I counted the teeth and got close.. You can also chose pitch, angles whatever.. I guess you could draw a gear but thats a lot of time.. If you look at some of these gear suppiers, you can actually download a 3D model of the gears.. So if I ever get around to desiging a tranny, I can get the gears imported in and build from there.. Thats pretty cool..

Nick.. I will get a cut away later tonight.. I havent seen any other beadlocks but the maxximizers.. and these have the same concept but are quite a bit different.. I hope I can prove that it works so when I get around to making rims I can go right to production...

trplxj ... Looks great bud.. I like seeing the evolution of the cages.. I have done quite a few and realize that I should have placed the links where they should be, and then draw the chassi.. Thats how I did my last one and it came out better for me...

Cant wait to see more..!

Thanks for the comments guys. I think I'm going to twik the overall cab size a little it does look too high. the wheel base right now is 15" but I think I'm going to move it out to 16" it will help with the link placement. The links and shocks are the next steps. I may have to modify the chassis a little bit but I don't think it will be too much. I have the links designed I just need to place them in my assembly and add my mount locations. I throwing around a couple different ideas as to how to attach the links to the chassis.

Would anyone be interested in a maxx shock? Got one drawn up. Unfortunately the spring is a little sketchy. CAD and 3d spirals do not get along. So in the file export you might get the spring and you might not.

Also still working with Cinema on the rendering and animation I Still can't figure out how to get past 90 frames of playback.....

Well my chassis design is coming along. The battery placement is giving me a hard time since the WB is 12.5"..... I was thinking i might want to run a receiver pack to so thats going to make things more complicated. Thise is the lowest place I could make for it so far. I'm sure this will make the COG terrible.

Figured out the battery placement.
