I tell ya, I tried holding off picking this rig up, but with how it's priced and what all comes in the box, I've got a feeling this is going to be a HOT seller! And with how bad the supply chain is these days, I'd bet these may be hard to find when the first round of them sell out. Quote:
Recently I fell in love with the Toyota Voodoo Blue on the newer Tacoma's, so I may do some sort of variant of this:

And you are right on the availability, I’ve been told that a certain large online shop isn’t expecting their 2nd shipment until after the 1st of the year.

I am often partial to the blues. I was considering a shade as well. I really like the navy imthatguy used on his Phoenix Look forward to the build B! |

I kinda figured there would be a shortage of rigs after VP announced the release. I was shocked to find Amain still had them in stock this past Sunday when I placed the order for mine. Me too! Here lately I've been stuck on the Tamiya dark metallic blue color. I do like the how Matt's Phoenix came out with that shade of blue he used on his.

I’m doing similar but with a much lighter blue. Actually Corsa Grey, but backed with a darker blue. I like the way the color turned out, but I had several brains farts on this paint job. Hopefully it still looks decent once assembled… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Corsa Grey is actually on my short list for my Phoenix. Also in the running is PS49 Sky Blue and PS54 Cobalt Green. Quote:
I just finished painting my pro body using the dark metallic blue and gunmetal. I think it turned out ok for my first paint job. Last edited by Up'n'Over; 10-27-2021 at 09:55 AM.

That corsa grey looks great. I was originally going to go that route but changed my mind. Now I'm wondering if I should go back.

Man, that looks great! I really like that color with the flat look and it gives it a classic look! Did you paint it on the outside or did you flat clear the outside?

The Phoenix finally arrived! She was scheduled to land last Friday, but Fed Ex had other plans! Found out it was delayed on Saturday and arrived unharmed on Monday afternoon! This new kit caught me and the rest of the world off guard! Not a hint or a peep from VP that they had a new kit in the works. Great job VP for keeping this beauty a secret!! So I hesitated at first to pick one of these up, but the more I saw of it the more I thought I better jump on buying this soon before the first round of stock of the new Phoenix go extinct! Good thing I did, because they seem to be out of stock everywhere and with the supply shortage hitting us now, these may not be back in stock for months. Picked up a Team KNK stainless steel hardware kit as usual! Got started on the kit last night. So far so good with no issues. More on that later! Last edited by B-MOW71; 11-03-2021 at 09:08 AM. |
