I'm going back up to Kelly's Monday to talk some more about a Titanium product line for our scalers. So I will have all my stuff back Tuesday.
Ernie,
Very nice Ernie! Tell them to make some CVDs that still have great steering, but can stand up to 3S brushless. I'm sure you'll share our vast Ascender mod knowledge with him.

I'm going up to talk to Kelly tomorrow and pick up my bronco and parts . And I think I read some were that the most steering you can get out of a cvd is 55 degrees???

Ok Pete, some eye candy for you. With the Dlux Design brass knuckles you have 11.5 oz of none rotating weight. These are scale legal, so should help you out with the cheaters hah!!! I know these aren't for everyone but they will give you a huge edge over most scale crawlers. Now it will be up to you to hit those lines!!! Another cool product from CODYBOY DESIGN!
Ernie,

Awesome steering even with the limiting stops.

More tomorrow.
Ernie,

Thanks Don, re-purposing is one of my favorite things to do in R&D!

Thanks Joe, always a great compliment coming from you.

I was talking with Poprivet about how I modify SSD wraith knuckles to take brass brake weights (a little over 4 oz of nonrotating weight) and thought I would share it with everyone. "All part of passing it forward".

So this is what it will look like on the knuckle.

With out the hub.

Modified knuckle.

Holder I made to turn the hub in a lathe or drill press.

The holder is turned to the same size as the inner bearing. It is a tight fit. I also drilled and tapped it for a 10/32" screw, and use it to clamp the small bearing against the knuckle.

If your using a drill press, you can use a coarse file that has teeth on all four sides. Position the file and lower the knuckle onto it to form the ridge for the weight.

There you have it. Have fun If you want to do this but don't have the tools let me know. I can do a set for you.

Amazing. I was thinking of the same thing for my ssd knuckles. How do you attach the brass weight to the knuckle though?

Great question Ben, I just put it all together this afternoon. I will share photos tomorrow. I used a button 4/40 ss screw and drilled and tapped one of the small holes on the front of the knuckle after I milled it to fit the weight. A photo or two will tell the story better than I just did.

I have a few spare wraith knuckles and 2 trucks that can immediately benefit from this mod.

Good question svt923, You have it right! Take off material from the rounded part of the tangs very very slowly. You want to make sure you have a tight fit! Have fun.

Ernie,
Ok Ben, pics I promised, hope they help!

I will start with finished product,

Here you can see the 4/40 button head screw. I think I remember that you have lathe, so on the screws I turned down the screw head a little for clearance of the 12mm hex nut.

I notched the weight and you can see one of the four holes in the knuckle that I drilled and tapped to 4/40.

Here you can see the hole in the knuckle.

I thought I would show you a easy way to do the brake weight its self. This is RCC venders wheel weight that I I converted to a knuckle weight with this 9/16" brass washer. I just centered it on the back of the wheel weight and soldered it in place. I then drilled out venders weight to match the washer size. Hope this will help some of you guys out. Now you know all my secrets!

If you try this, please share with us how you did it!

A little update, I have no update on the Bulldog Bronco, I haven't had time!
These are a few things I've been working on. Beef tube axles, and just about to finish a Codyboy Steering mod with brake weight brass for one of our members.

These are designed to fit external bead lock wheels.

Look pretty good from the front.

More later, thanks for looking.

Ok, finished these up this morning.

And another Dlux product that will be offered in Codyboy steering upgrade. These could pretty much make this upgrade bulletproof. Erik is a great guy to work with.

Thanks for looking, and Pete, these are going in my truck.
