All my old 2S and 3S batts are dying, still got some good 1800 3S, they even fit in the stock battery tray doubled up and in the other Ascender modified tray with 550 motor. Busted diff replaced and the boys are keen to hit the trails today!

I see they hold Recon G6 events over there in England, you ever get to one of those M1tch?

A few years ago the G6 people put out some feelers to gauge response to a possible G6 in Australia.....that would be fun!

I haven't gone to any events as usually the are 200 to 300miles away. I don't know of anyone else around here with a scale crawler either. I might give one a try next year as hoping to retire at the begining of April.

Finally have had enough of the stock drive shafts, worn or busted pins and sloppy drivetrain. Installed vanquish diff outputs, and incision driveshafts (scx10/scx10 II size ) and drilled the stock gearbox output shaft to accept the thru pins. Drive train is nice and tight now and maintenance friendly. Parts already ordered to do the other Ascender too!

Looks like you've got your money's worth out of those tires, and diff housings, and frame rails, and... the whole truck!

Reasonable upgrade. My truck has a ton of slop in the drivetrain.

Yes it’s had plenty of use, done many miles and local comps. This is the 3rd body for that chassis now. I finally have it how I have always wanted it. I’m a bit slow getting it there and now they are discontinued lol.

550 21T motor, HW1080 ESC, Codyboy weighted axles, battery tray mod to clear 550 motor, rear sway bar, Savox 1210, castle BEC, assorted china bead locks and tyres, interior and driver figure, servo winch. Only thing I don’t have is lights and some protek 3S shorty batts. Running an old dx4c radio, wishing I had one of those cool rugged radios.....

I can recommend the driveshaft upgrade, only tricky bit was drilling the gearbox shafts for the thru pins, I used and old stock driveshaft end and clamped it onto the shaft where I wanted the hole with 1 grub screw and used the other grub screw hole as a drill guide for a 2.5mm drill bit to drill most of the way thru, take it off then finish drilling. Was easy.

I would probably do the same as you and drill my current output shafts. But vaterra does offer a new output shaft that is drilled through. I think the suburban comes with it? They did at least forsee people wanting to change to a standard style driveshaft. Or at least they did offer them. I'm trying to search for the part number now but can't find it quickly.

Replaced shafts on my K10 Ascender with the VP axle output adapters and the SCX10 Incision shafts, love it! Super scale, smaller OD, easier maintenance! Great job clamping and drilling old style tranny output shaft, yes the Suburban came with the shaft with holes, still be available separately in Bens' link below.

The 66 Chevy pickup has a 550 can 21T motor now, battery tray chopped and moved forward and bolted to the chassis. Got it as far forward as I could and still fit batteries, ground away the ribs underneath to get as low as I could too.

Late notice for a local night run with the guys, so slapped some lights on, one of those cheap online light kits I had left over from the Bronco and a night crawler light bar someone gave me. Hot glue gun, tape and cable ties quick install!

Got the old blacked out bonnet on (hood for u guys) and cut out the roof of the old cab body, hot glue and taped it on like a sun visor and bolted light bar to it. Everything held up fine for my first night run!

Great night shots.

Truck must be doing well if the drivers now the weak point!

I thought my housings and frame rails were well worn in, but you've certainly got me beat.
