Finally got around to fitting my new body. It lined up pretty good but to get it perfect I’d have to remove the front bumper or find one that sticks out a little more and since you can’t run a rear bumper I’m not sure if I’d recommend getting it. To lower the body I’d have to cut the back of the bed so it doesn’t hit the shock towers so I’ll just leave it where it is. I think it’s going to look ok but I’m already searching for my next body.

You could notch out your grill to clear the bumper - that's what I do with mine.

I did but I’d have to cut it all the way up to the bottom of the grill, I just don’t want to have to hack up a new body just to make it fit.

The body height you pictured looks fine.

Why? I guess I'm just not getting this. It's what we do to MAKE them fit.

You could run without bumpers, but I find that shreds a body worse than trimming them to fit.

Not when you have to cut half the front end off to make it look right. Iv had 4 other bodies with just minor trimming and everything fit and looked factory. With this body the rear fender wells are off with the tires and if I slide it back then the fronts are off. I guess I’m crazy for wanting my stuff to look good.

No one said anything about it not looking good. Do you always do this passive-aggressive thing?

If the wheelwells are off that's wheelbase, not front overhang.
I give up.

Is lowering the bumper, or some other custom bumper work an option?

I thought about it but I decided to just leave it and I didn’t want to cut off the lower half of the grill so just trimmed the bumper. It sits a little high but not too bad. I was going to paint the fender flares and bed and rear bumper but said screw it since I’m not really thrilled whith the look of the body. I still need to bring the sliders in a little still or get some different ones.

Adjusted the front bumper closer to the body. Sucks I had to cut up new mounts but now I have a template for some custom ones.

Hey man. I have an ascender and was really considering getting this. What size tires are you running? Those look huge and not sure I like it for mine. Thanks

Those are the Pitbull RockBeast XL's. I also had a set of Proline TSL xls's in the new predator compound but have take them off for wear - they just shred on granite rocks. And the wheels are 30mm wide with hub weights which just adds to the track width even more.

I won a set of the new PB wheels and got a set of the Vanquish VXT tires, and they're not so wide, so I'm going to install those when I get them and re-try the ZR2 body. Will post a new pic.

I will say the Colorado body is a little narrow. It's almost like a monster-truck body. My Scaler-fab rock sliders kind of stick out too. I'm not that happy with the fit, but since I have a black Colorado 4x4 as a DD it was more of a 'had-to-have' for me just because. I change bodies out like underwear, so I'll run it a few months and retire it to a shelf.

I change bodies a lot also. Stick it on the shelf for when I get bored and want to run that body again. Also cheaper than having 30 trucks like I used to have. I already have 7 which makes mama bear not so happy

Took the truck out into the back yard today. Can't crawl much in an office. I've got some rocks that filled in part of an old fish pond. made for some fun crawling. Wish I had my other cameras charged up. Had to prop my cell phone up. Once I find my mini FPV system I'll try for some on board video.

Added some lights that need to be wired up and a goofy cheesy antenna just because I'm a cheese ball. Oh and for S&G I picked up one of those sound boxes.
