The body didn't come with running boards like the kit does so I decided to make my own. I am also planning on making some saddle tanks. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to shorten the axles. It looks pretty good but the tires definitely stick out further than they should. Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Tapatalk Last edited by mgputer; 07-08-2018 at 07:53 AM. |

Finished all the bracketry to hold the cab and running boards on. I built it plenty tough as they will act as sliders as well. Also reinforced the front so not just the grill holds the fenders. I'm going to put the esc and receiver under the seat. So much to do yet but it's starting to come together. Still waiting for my 3d printed parts and some other odds and ends. Also need to get some shocks. Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Tapatalk |

Very nice work, your time spent on the little things will pay off in the end!!! I had my reservations on if that 1/12 scale body would be to small, but you are doing a great job proving that thought wrong! Keep up the good work young man! Ernie |

Ernie if i can get my 1:12 scale F series to work, this should be a cakewalk by comparison! haha this looks GREAT! i just read the last few pages and WOW what a great build! now you got me thinking i need to ditch my GCM rear kit and try that gmade set. and that transmission... its crazy how scale this ascender is now! btw i know somebody makes a diesel BT4 motor that slips over the 540 cans. i think its GCM on shapeways. your can sits pretty low, though! just when i was starting to lose focus on my ford build with the hiccup trying to get the 3d printed body, this build is getting me motivated again! |

So I got the measurements on the 3d motor that I have coming and it will be the perfect height. The motor is about .5" above the body so the engine should sit about .75" below the hood so it should look right in there. Now I just have to wait for it to get here. I really really need a 3d printer.

Narrowed the axles about 5/16" or approximately 8mm per side. Looks pretty good. If I can get the shocks mounted in a different location I might narrow it down another 1/4" . Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Tapatalk |

Well I played around with it a little bit before work and it's going to have to stay the way it is. Any narrower than that and the tire will hit the leaf springs. Oh well it looks OK as is. Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Tapatalk |
