Well I ordered those 2 solar servos.

I hope you two were right about the reliability or else there will be hell to pay lol

Pardon my asking... what vehicle were those wheel/tire combos "borrowed" from? Or are they just a put together set?

Aluminum beadlocks seem like a good idea. After having drained the water out of the stock foams... lets just say fine thread tiny screws and plastic are not the the best match. (also note I always turn screws CC 'till you hear/feel that click knowing that you're not going to cut new threads and create a larger hole) There's about 1-2 screws per side on each wheel the just won't cinch.

Any way there's 'lots of good info here and thanks for putting in your time, effort, and money etc.

What lube is good to prevent this?

I'd only go for a dry lube that wont collect dust, dirt and rocks (unless custom boots are fabricated.) Any oil or grease will gladly pick up abrasive contaminates and quickly wear out the joints.

I spray white lithium grease on the metal parts then wipe it down with a towel after it's soaked for a bit.

Try some 2-56 x 3/8" buttonhead screws, that's what I use in my Axial beadlocks and they work great. Twin Hammers uses 2mm screws same as Axial beadlock.

Those look nice but probably get messed up easier, making them hard to remove later. Either one is better option than 2mm though LOL.

To prevent driveline corrosion I use a product called "CorrosionX."
Spray it on, then wipe it ALL off to prevent contaminants from sticking. Going over it with a dry lube after helps as well.

anyone tear up any gears yet? I'm pretty sure I did tonight.

High gear wont work at all and low gear barely - its been sounding off in high gear lately as well.

Time to tear it down I guess

I've ben thru 2 sets now, It's a PITA tearing it down due the design so I opted to spend some time and installed a aluminum Axial trans with all steel gears. Yeah I lost the 2spd but I rarely used low anyway with the motor/ESC combo I'm useing. The SOB is bullet proof now so we'll see what part of the drive line breaks next ?
