I finally got to beat on the truck tonight. I had a blast with it! I was driving it full out across some really rough rocky and gravel type areas. It was handling great, especially in low gear. After roughly 30 mins of hard tumbles and jumps it stopped. I haven't torn it apart yet but it is clear I have taken out a gear. I'm hoping its just a spur gear but I need to get home to my tools before I will know. Brushless ready, I'll give it a second chance to prove itself true. |

Harley, u got the 3100kv roc motor.. That's a hot setup for speed.. U said it handled the rocky sections well in 1st gear, is it unwieldy fast in 2nd? Does that high of a kv rating make it a fast buggy and a faster buggy? I'm looking at the 2300 motor as well.. Would the 2300 be a better motor for a crawling desert buggy? |

As is, I still think it's a great setup. | |

Ok so it's like having a brushed 19 or 21turn single with more torque? Can't say brushed 27t cuz a normal 17.5 is roughly 2500kv... I'm just wanting to buy a motor that has the versatility to sit in my TH or in one of my axial builds without being overkill.. I run 3 and 4s in everything... Edit: I'm still looking for a slow speed crawl vid to see the resolution at work... I also forgot to ask (may be buried in ur thread) but what pinion are u running? I'm at 19 teeth with a 17.5 murfdogg.. It's WICKED fast but it will cog at me under crawling load... High horse low torque.... Last edited by elsewhere; 03-10-2013 at 09:47 PM. |

is your motor sensored Elsewhere? A sensored one shouldn't be cogging i think!!

Quick question in regards to your cage and the full size servo, mounted a full size on mine similar to your setup, however the servo hits the cage. Did you just cut that section out?

Tonight was the first time I got back to work on this truck. For some reason I working on this thing does not make me happy like my other rigs. I have decided, the chassis has to go. I think the worst part of this truck is the garbage hardware. It literally seems to be made from half recycled pop cans and half silly putty. Tomorrow we have a fun run at a great local spot. I hope to get some good running in. I geared the truck down a little and I am interested to see the outcome. |

i'll be watching this thread!!!!! just bought one of these things today, an hour out of the box i jumped it off our 4ft rock wall........... stuffed the nose into the ground but nothing broke.. all my rc friends and i have are slashes, onroad cars, scalers and comp rigs but im the first to get one of these.. front servo sucks its a little slow for my liking, gonna try the thick oil in the front diff, move the spare tire and i noticed rocks getting thrown into my driveshaft and making a helluva racket so i added a thin piece of lexan type stuff and ziptied it to the bottom of the rear links.. gonna run it tomorrow and if it all goes well i will post pics. |

Well I haven't really touched this truck in awhile but I'm going to have to change that. These just shipped today to do the initial testing. I'll get some footage of that next week. Can't wait to start upgrading some of the pieces on this truck finally. |

In addition to the new arms, I received a package in the mail the other day from Rick at SuperShafty.com with some brand new Kyosho Velvet shocks for the TH. The quality of these things is pretty incredible |

Hey Harley, Here is a up grade I did with B4.1 rear arms and MIP CVD. I shaved the B4 arms here and here. Then machined the TH out put, and the MIP CVDs. and Kelly Lunsford welded all of it for me. I have 2" of travel at the hex. Last edited by CODYBOY; 07-03-2013 at 09:16 PM. |
