Today's version. Narrowing in on a final design. Really need to find/make a little press brake that can work with these small nuke proof parts. I actually weakened the bend zones so that it would be easier to form. The diff housing will disintegrate before this thing tweaks...

Camber links are hitting the shock springs due to the shock tower moving the mounting points .125" forward. Tried but couldn't bend a 3/16" 7075 rod cleanly in the provided space so I'm leaning toward a machined piece. V1.1 Renderings based around Revo parts.

Killer links! If you can make those compatible with the stock kit as well as your tower, I'd definitely buy a pair.

Now this is some wonderful tasty goodness.

Is that bend in 7075 or 6061?

Cheers,
J

Thanks guys.

Tower is 1/8" 7075-T6 sheet
Arms will be from 3/8" 7075-T6 flat bar

I've moved on from making parts from shitty shitty one

Ok, I lied... a shitty proto as I had to test the code before the 7075 gets here. Just went with a straight bore for now as I was mainly testing for fit. Could use a touch more offset or a clearance bevel. But it is an improvement for sure. Would have a set but an endmill broke deep in the profile pocket on the second arm. Chip welding...

I really love your work rob!
What about shifting the tower to the back of the ears to get the camber links in stock position an gain a little bit of clearance? (Tower bending should be reworked, but...)

The first tower was mounted behind the ears but it seemed to be encroaching in the steering's space so I moved it all to the front. I would rather have goofy parts to clear the shock and give the steering all the room it needs to function properly. Really though, I'm sure it will be less than idea geometry wise as the front end tends to be. I wanted the new upper arm to pivot on a bushing but then realized that inner and outer pivots were not in the same plane, forcing misalignment on both ends of the link during travel, hence the pivot ball. With a slight tweak to the arm offset the suspension motion will be close enough to move on to other areas of the car. I would really like to have this guy running in two months for the AZ Summer Shootout G6. I can always make revised parts after its running

Thanks... still have a lot of parts to design/make/test before we talk of selling them. But then again I like having stuff no one else does!!!

Will those links be usable in the stock TH or just when using your tower? It would be a good idea to have it as a universal upgrade.

rob is like your 8th grade girl friend, you get a glimpse of the goods but you never get to touch them. . Nice to see someone still trying to keep the twin hammer alive. As always rob your parts look really good.

great work im defo going to be a customer rob ! but cant the tower be a straight plate with no bends and standoffs for the top shock mounts ?? i may be right off track but cant see for the life of me the need for the bends in the tower plate ?

You are correct it could be a straight plate but I didn't like how it all fit together like that and thought it could be better. I'm happy enough to move on to other parts as revisions can easily come later.

I've considered it but am not so sure that it will be necessary.
