you know this may sound dumb. (maybe it is) but rc4wd shocks kinda suk, they look killer but they all leak, otherwise the ultimate scale shock would be the way to go.... what i was going to say is, the only good part on a venom creeper is its shocks heh... you can turn them down a LOT, infact i made mine the same OD as my rc4wd USS's.! and they are smooth and dont ever leak and have little slop in them and I LOvE the way they are put together. 2cents otherwise traxxas big bores or losi comps or even HOT Racing 120mm piggyback shocks nice rig! |

Ust remember I designed the jeep with those length shocks do adding longer ones is going to raise the CG and change how it drives a lot! Why do you want to run longer shocks?

Longer shocks will make it worse. The suspension geometry is pretty decent. I was able to get it to climb some pretty steep climbs without issue. If anything get some heavier wheels. I don't know how long youve been into scales or how much seat time you have either but before you go making big changes drive it with other scalers to get a good baseline of performance. It worked pretty good for me. There weren't many rigs that it couldn't keep up with, in fact there where more rigs that couldn't keep up with it. Please don't take this as me being condescending or an asshole ,just stating my opinion Last edited by rckjeep; 04-16-2012 at 11:00 AM. |

If I was to take anything personal I would never post on here or ask for help. Maybe I should try more weight in the wheels. I have the pit bulls now. And alot could be cause this is my first scaler crawler. What would be a good weight for each wheel

Ya it really depends on what you are comparing it too. If you are having trouble keeping up with a comp rig or even a 2.2 scaler then you may think it's not setup right but it's pretty dialed for a 1.9 rig. Wheels weight is total personal preference. The Pro-line Titus wheels come with 4oz. of added weight for each wheel. That much weight makes for a very stable rig, IMO.

just dont put too much weight in the wheels or say, put a LOT of weight in just the front wheels, it can be very hard on the drivetrain and gears depending on how you drive. but 3-4 oz's is the most you want in each wheel. like RCKJEEP said, this will help a bit with stability. but do NOT change to longer shocks.. if I knew what was goiong on I wouldnt have recomended them LOL... from what I saw in this thread I think that rig is about as good as it gets for setup on a 1.9.. but you CAN always play with the setup of course. if you want to stay at the height your at, you would need taller shock hoops to run longer shocks, raising the truck up is bad but if you want more articulation this is an EXAMPLE. weld, fab, build......have fun with it and LEARN!! this is a sick ass first scaler!!!! my 2cents |

So thought I would give an update. Went back the the flat irons there the way to go. I'm in the process of doing a complete tear down. Adding two more rock lights new hood and roof then it's going to the paint booth to get its new look.
