I run underdrive gears in the back of Pepe and Guido.
I went up on the pinion gear to compensate for the underdrive. That way I get the benefit of a faster front axle but don't lose any wheelspeed.

What pinion are you using? I think I'm using a 20t already.

I finally got a navigator to join the team and he's ready for action needs an "Oh Shit handle" installed.

I also got the battery installed

I'm not sure what else to do to this thing. I go back and forth with tires and wheels. The TSL's look good but wish the wheels were a bit more scale. I've got some Axial beadlocks and Flat Iron's which I think look almost perfect on the rig for Ultra 4 racing but the TSL's just work a bit better.

What would you do next?

I like the navigator.

I was running a 22 tooth on Pepe with an 84 tooth spur.

Thanks, it think it helps the KOH look to run 2 guys. Though making both arms sit over his lap was time consuming but worth it.

I don't know why I didn't think about a smaller spur duh, I can get a 22t and see as well. You running a 2s or 3s Griz?

I agree on having a co-dog. I like to run two figures in Guido also.
I've thought of doing that mod to a Willy figure, but it always looked like too much work for me. You did a nice job.

I run 84 tooth (or 32 pitch 54 tooth) spurs and 3S on all my rigs.

I picked up a Castle 10A BEC havne't installed it yet, still unsure. Electronics are not my strong suit and I don't want to fry anything.

On a totally different note, I'm loving the TSL's and the Dark Soul wheels are nice but with a full wrap of lead weight around all the wheels make this rig 8.5lbs. I think it's a bit heavy. I like my rigs around 7-7.5lbs. When I run the axial wheels and Flat Iron's it weighs in at 7.4lbs. I really want to get the new Axial Walker Evans wheels paint them silver and glue on the TSL's. Of course there's no ETA when they'll be available. I'm hoping they'll come in satin silver so I don't have to paint them.

What tire and wheel combo would you run?

Wheels

A. Black Axial 8 holes with MTHeads flush rings

B. Silver Axial 8 holes w/MTHeads TR rings

C. Proline Titus wheels in Black

D. Axial Walker Evans wheels

Tires

1. Flat Iron's

2. TSL's

3. 1.9 Pit Bull Rock Beasts
Tell me what you think would look best on this rig, example D3

I think it looks best the way it is with the axial/MT rings and flatirons, keeps with the KOH look.

Maybe same wheels with rock crusher 2's.

For now I swapped the Flat Iron's with black axial wheels and I'm digging it. Then I drove my XJ around for about an hour. That TLT XJ is just awesome to drive. When the Axial Walker Evans come out I'll glue on some Flat Irons and throw the TSL's on the silver axials with the TR MTHeads rings. That should do it.

Looks great! For performance I would use your TSL's or try out the PitBulls. The Pits might look good on your rig and they work great!

I will most likely get a set when the funds come in.

The TSL's do perform just a bit better than the Flat Irons. They also look great but don't have the KOH look. For a trail rig they are perfect.

Ok I've been having an annoying issue with this strange wobbly vibration almost clacky noise thing. I've been trying to track down the cause of said problem. I started by removing the rear MIP drive shaft, I ran it and it still did it. Then I spun the rear end and it spun smooth but seems like its a bit tight. I cleaned the dry lube I've been using for the drive shafts. Then I removed the front MIP and spun the front axle. It spun freely and smooth. So I'm looking at the front shaft which back in the day of shaft driven comp rigs I shortened it to make room for the DIG. It was TIG welded back together almost perfectly straight. I checked it by putting it in my drill and its off by a few thousandths(I'm estimating). Do you guys think that slight drive shaft inbalance could be causing this issue?

I've started on it but since our current home doesn't have 220v power I can't fab like I once did, one quote was $1500. I have to wait till I can weld at friends houses. All I can do now is make a rolling chassis, which would be progress. I need to jump it.

I decided on using the silver axial wheels with the TSL's and the Walker Evans wheels are getting the Flat Irons. Today I made some risers to fit over the new wheels to give me room to add some weight to them. I just finished a test fitting and it looks like its gonna work.

When you can, definitely try some 1.9 Pitbulls. They will give you the look you desire, plus they perform so good (soft rubber paired with the dual foam). I am running them now, after running the 2.2 TSL's. The same lines can be accomplished and the look amazing to boot!

Rig has always looked good, btw.
