| I've tried different things to dimple sheet metal. I've used a step drill bit which is ok, but this time I used a Rotex punch to make the holes. I have a large slab of 1" aluminum plate with some holes it. I countersunk a roughly 3/8" hole and used a 1/4" x 1/4" drive socket to dimple the holes. Hope that makes sense. Make sure the socket fits loosly in both holes otherwise it'll wedge itself in and it's not easy to get out. Goodluck

Yup glad to help out, I hope to see some dimples on Blitzkreig, it looks like a great start by the way. Can't wait to see the finished rig. Crawl is definitely my main source for RC motivation. Love your sig too, I feel the same way.

I found a rotex punch at work but the damn thing is missing all the dies below 1/4". I punched a few test holes and sure enough, the dies are worn as hell and almost dimple themselves. But yes, we will see some dimples in some way, shape, or form on the Blitzkrieg. |

What options are there for aluminum axle housings? I've seen some that are fairly smooth. The hot racing ones seem to have some cornered edges I didn't like. Took a few action pics today before it got dark. Whatcha think? |

| This thing works very well. Weight bias is pretty much 50/50 (with even wheel weights added) by feel. A tad more travel would be cool, but not neccesary. Quote:
they are just too pricey for me right now. Though I may have an idea for that. | |

I'm working on getting the housings via trade so we'll see. I swapped out the tires & wheels to some Flat Irons on some axial wheels. I've always loved the FI's, they really give this thing the KOH racer look. The TSL/SX's are definitely more of a "trail" tire. I really want to go crawl somewhere but just don't have the time. I did however add some more rock to my Graveyard trail, made some awesome lines. I'll be moving all my rock to the new house so if anyone wants to help out with that it would be awesome. I'll even give anyone who helps out an invite to the next SBS Invitational Tuff Truck Challenge. |

I know it sounds ghetto, but it looks great. Put some tabs on the inside for the paper clips to hook onto and only use the paper clips for the top and bottom bars. It'll let the net flex some and look proper.

I did a little more searching and found Mad4Rnr's post about his window nets, it was very informative. So I headed out to the fabric store and found some 1/8" black ribbon and the glue he rcommended. I spent a few spare minutes out in the garage and came up with.......
