LOL - Thanks Justin..., I'm SURE you'll take real GOOD care of Clampy when I'm gone..!!! Just make sure I've got a charged battery pack waiting for me when I get out..!!!!

Honestly I'm not sure.., I'll probably draw the line when I'm completely satisfied with it..!!! ( whatever lifetime that will be in..!! LOL !) Next up on the "To-Do" list is the interior, and interior Rollcage....hopefully work begins on that tomorrow

Wow , that is bad ass !!! . Always had a soft spot for Clampy and seeing a scaler of it is bad ass . You're doing a really nice job on it . It's an awesome feeling to have a replica built of your 1:1

After getting the NEW Killer pics of "Clampy" from Leah yesterday.., I really thought about it, and decided I needed to change plans a little......

The stock hilux grill I modded was cool, but it just honestly dosen't go with this truck...:-(, and the Chrome Kyosho Big Brute grill was an idea, BUT It was WAY too narrow to work, and it just didn't look right either......SO, out came the styrene, and the hours of work began....

After measuring everything out (twice) , and really studying the pics, I started sketching, and came up with this design....

Then I needed a "Donor" for some headlight lenses......OPPSSS.. look what i found.... ( they look and fit the new grill design PERFECT..)

Once I got it to the point where i really liked it, I brought it over to the drill press, and began removing styrene....then started playing "connect the dots" with an exacto blade......

Then the "fun" task of filing, and sanding began..( being extremely careful not to break the fragile styrene while working..) , and then almost 1 1/2 hours later I was ready to cut out the overall outside design...

Once the outside edge was cut, and sanded to shape, I then cut out, and glued in the inner louvers ( just like on the real grill)

I then got it fitted to the radiator core support, and also made recessed headlight buckets ( with holes for lights to be added later...)

Heres the "Money Shot" to see how everything fits..!!! ( the yellow is just masking tape to hold in place for now...)

ALL these little custom touches and changes are really making this build take forever to complete, but with each new addition, its looking closer, and closer to the real thing..!!!!

Can't see the pics

I ordered a bunch of supplies a while back from Tower hobbys, and one of the things I got was these 12" long 3/16 aluminum solid rod...Perfect for Clampy's inner rollcage..

However, they are only 12" long, so i FINALLY got to drill and tap something on this build..!!!

Quick mock up of the rear hoop.. the rollbar is bolted thru the aluminum plate which will be tied directly to the frame rail, "just in case" something horrible happens, and this thing rolls..!!!!

Heres the 2 front hoops bent up and installed...

Now for the FUN part..., I had to literally "shoehorn" the floorpan in with the rear hoop only attatched, I then had to re-install the 2 front hoops.... This things turned into a dam jig-saw puzzle..!!!!

Now its almost time for paint.... Finally... ( how many times have I said that already..!!!)
