Ok so working out chassis issues.. so only updates is some body work. The mold lines in this body piss me off... They are everywhere. So sanding and more sanding. Also removed all the bullshat thats under the hood. I think the body prep will really make the paint turn out much much better. Then my boy gave me some screen door mesh for behind the grill. But it seemed a little big and a trip to the grocery store landed a fryingpan splash guard was perfect. Mesh is half the size and its steel. Here is a comparison between the two. I like the smaller mesh much better. Thx for looking! |

went to lowes and picked up some 1/2" square tube and started cutting and bending. got the front and rear bumpers made. just gotta braze it up. and then have them welded onto the chassis along with the center skid, cross brace's, and servo mount tabs. gonna leave this chassis 3" wide all the way down so i can get the servo as far over as i possibly can so my draglink and panhard bar can be as long as possible. anywho heres the pics of the bumpers ready to get brazed and ground smooth. |

I've posted in my other threads some other great moments. My three year old, while I was doing a photo shoot for a build looked up at me and said "Daddy, I love building trucks with you." The best words a builder/Dad could hear. Just wait...every day gets better than the next. Take lots of pictures...tons of pictures! I look back and don't remember half of the thousands I've taken. As for the build...surprise us! Either will be killer...run with your gut. Last edited by Bulldog; 03-02-2013 at 01:50 AM. | |

Well was on duty tonight so went and got the frame and bumpers blasted and talked with a guy about welding it all up. So that should be soon I hope depending on how long it takes for my skids yes that's plural skids.. got something brewing up in my head and I hope it works out. But after I was done blasting those I went ahead and finished the body. Got it close to finish sanded gotta make a list of to do's.. on the body as I'd like to have it painted soonish. I have till Aug to finish so I don't wanna rush it really. Here she is blasted and then sanded. |
