Awesome build, I saw the 1:1 rig up close a few times and it is awesome. I was wondering why Noone had made a build of this rig. I'm going to be watching this build

That's an amazing rig, man. I like your work and will follow you...
What's the wheelbase of this rig? Did you design this tuber upfront with detailed drawings and bending guides?

The wheelbase is 303mm/11" and the track is 10 3/4" . All the chassis measurements are made to fit into the current U4RC 1.9 trophy class.
I have found that not all the tubework from the 1:1 rigs is needed on these models but I try to keep all the angles of the visible tubework as close as I can . I print out as many clear side-on photos as I can and get all my measurements scaled from there. There is a great build thread on pirate4x4 . A little less weight up high on the chassis is always a good thing so under the panels there are a few tubes missing.

Funny you mention that ,I do have a tj body sitting here and was considering it but the 1:1 has a narrowed CJ grill. Im looking at getting a jet cut one made and making a hood out of alloy or steel sheet.

That definitely a sweet rig. He had it at morris mtn rbd ride last year and broke it trying to climb the punisher. That thing sounds sweet doing some southern rock Bouncin.

Yep its always cool to see Ultra4 rigs mixing it with the southern buggies and hearing this on the rev limiter is pretty sweet !

Small update , making a few bits out of .5mm titanium to add some bling ( yeah right, inside where they'll be out of view !) to this rig .
ESC tray and battery tray, still need to attach some fasteners and tie-downs for the batteries.

2 X 2200 3S and an RX8 , a tight fit.

That is some great work! I've for a couple questions because I plan to do something similar. How do you line your tubes up and keep them in place while you attach them (brazing, or soldering, or whatever method you used)? Do you build a jig or clamp them or something completely different? Also, do the XR10 lockouts bolt right up to the AR60?

I use a hobby cutting mat with all of the grid lines on it to keep everything square , not for welding on , just checking progress. That and the occasional magnet to hold tubes as I weld them , heat ruins magnets so buy cheap ones and replace as needed. I braze with 45% silver solder and mapp or propane gas. The XR lockouts fit right on, no mod needed .The axles themselves need shortening.

How exactly did you shorten them?

That's a good question! Some people in the forum made the same but i never found an exact guide with the needed parts for this mod. I would be very pleased to have such an howto guide from you!

Its as simple as extending the flat section on the tang another 10mm or so ( I use a dremel) and trimming the end so the ends dont touch inside your locker.

Thanks, that does sound fairly easy.

I needed something to hide the ESC so I thought I'd add to the tray and use a bit of mesh from a fan I had lying around. I welded a couple of bits of titanium bicycle spoke on with a couple of tabs for mounting.

Mounted up and ESC hidden.

You could also use the standard link mounts and mount the links and shocks on the inside with a spare ball end inside the link mount to take up the space. This is what Kyle Truloff did on his ibex ultra4 running the same axles.

I emailed their home page and just sent a fb message, I'll wait and see how it goes.

I've seen his build but I just can't stop making new bits , I'd like to keep those
ends a double shear anyway.
