That laser welder is simply amazing! Never heard of it before. Spectacular work I must say. Kick ass rig to build from too.

Added a couple more scale bits , fuel filler, gear shift levers, fuel cell and painted the springs to match the 1:1 . I also put in a keychain towrope under the rear tool compartment.

Version 3 of the front clip, still not happy with it so another one is in the works.

Its getting closer to being finished , itching soooo bad to get it in the rocks and dirt to see how it performs.

I made another clip out of 1.5mm steel with short pieces of 3mm square steel brazed onto another flat plate , a lot easier than trying to cut out vertical grill bars.

[IMG][/IMG]

I used a couple of these COB (chip on board ) LED lights behind the grill. They are really cheap, have plenty of light and run cold on 3S . I'll be putting a couple more underneath for rock lights.

I did get out for a couple of pics yesterday , nothing too rough yet, gotta get a heap more pics while its still nice and shiny !

Cheers, Its a bit tidier than the last effort. I'm liking the lights too, they have a huge spread on them and for $1 each shipped I reckon they're a steal. I just ordered a few more to put on my other rigs.

This is just from the 2 bulbs on the grill on 3S, I'll chuck 2 more underneath for rock lights and this will have more than enough light. And zero heat out of them ! cool to the touch ! I've melted some stuff with some previous lighting experiments.
here's the link for the bulbs , they have a heap of different shapes , I have a couple of the 120x8mm bars that are about a perfect size for light bars.

It's got swag! Looking real good with the Skins on it . What's the diameter on those lights and where can they be bought from ??

Cheers , I'm loving this rig , awesome performance too.
Check a few earlier posts for the bulbs , I put the link and some other pics. They are 18mm wide and have great specs , these are the 2W , ambient temp when running after 30mins or so direct from a 3S . I'm using a 4W light bar on a JK and it gets about 45* celcius after a while , not enough heat to damage anything but tons of light. I've bought more and I'm putting them on everything !

Straight axle smoked 'em again !
To think his race car was upside down in Sledgehammer the night before the race shows he has the drive and the team to get things done and conquer !

Really nice work, looks very much like the real deal!

And yes, Erik is the man for sure, we were there to witness his dominance. Hung out at Backdoor for a while and watched him make his way like the pro that he is. Also watched Shannon fixing his rig and drop everything when his kids came through. That was awesome to see.

Looking forward to more video of your little 4421 car.

I put together a quick video of this car , it never fails to put a smile on my dial while driving it . Such a cool rig to drive.

NorthKona, SICK video! This truck you've built is surely one of my favorite RC buggy's I've ever seen. The scale realism in that video is astounding. I think I'm gonna go creep through the rest of your builds and posts...... hehehehe. Nice job. This is the first I've seen it, so yes, I'm bumping this slightly dated thread.

Did you make updates to your car since he just did a 3 week ground up build of a new car for this season?

He actually just sold his current car and had to borrow his KOH winning car to race the Nationals in. He said the current design is a blueprint for all the cars. There are more Miller rigs getting out there and racking up great results , its a great platform.
