lol thanks. Shocks on these things can be a pain in the ass to tune, but when you get it right it's so rewarding.

Lol. The weird thing is that it looks perfectly fine, but I guess it's possessed and decends to throw the trucks sometimes

Alright guys, here's my first update on the body. If you didn't hear before, this stuff is wall insulation foam. Very cheap and workable, so I thought I'd try it out. Using the stacking method, similar to how to make cakes. So far it hasn't been too bad. I just have to work slow so I don't make a mistake, because unlike clay you can't really add back.

I like it. What do you use for the actual body?

Thanks, still a lot to work to do but I think it's a good start. For the actual body I'll use 0.40 or 0.50 lexan on our vacuum former.
Maybe even one that's thinner too so it's more scale.

Oh jeez you're making it from complete scratch?? Looks good so far, I'd just smooth it all out when you finish tho

Yeah complete scratch, want it to fit perfect.. and yes it will be smooth in the end, this is just the first step.

Here's another temporary body option. Fits pretty well but I had to take off the chassis skirt. The body mold will take some more time so this will be used in the mean while.

You do some awesome fab work man and if I can get my Ultra4 rigs to handle almost as good as yours I'll be happy. l may have missed it but it looks like you have Kyosho shocks which is what I have currently on my Ultra4 so if you have any tips I'd appreciate it. My rig weighs about 11 lbs and has sway bars and limit straps too just need to figure out the best springs, shock fluid and best piston for the setup.

Appreciate it man. The shocks are actually yeti shocks, even though they look exactly like kyosho's. I added on those blue hot racing parts, and I plan on getting black bodies too. As far as advice I say give these springs a shot. Losi Front and Rear Shock Spring Set (4) (Gold

Those work great. The spring rate is much better suited for these heavy rigs. You might need 2 sets if you end up using the longer ones so they match. Then after you install those you can just mess around with shock oils until you're happy.

Hey, I just used some old stampede mounts. I screwed them into my cage.

Just a little recap from the last outing.

We went outing riding quads so we took all the trucks along. Both TT's, my bro's SCX and my friend's custom Topkick. It was nice having some room to open up Zeus a bit. The BFG's handle great on just about everything, truck had good traction on some looser stuff. Didn't get to take as much video as I would of liked, but next time for sure.

And the pics:

Going to need some new panels

Yeah it was muddy LOL
