After a couple of runs i decided to stick with the 55T and Traxxas tranny,21/78. It's smooth as silk and quiet.(full ball bearings and industrial grease) No signs of wear. Great low end throttle control and just enough wheelspeed. Only upgrades needed are more Volts,a Tekin-FXR and a better BEC. The BEC i'm running has a 6V/3A maximum.(designed for boats) Motor as low as possible. Mudguards.Less cleaning. Couple more in action. Let the detailing begin... |

I bought a set of the hotworksracing brakediscs for one of my projects but decided to put them on the Bronco. With a little paint and weathering they will look great. After removing the center with the hex and surrounding material they are a tight fit on both sets of wheels i have for the Bronco.(dry or wet conditions) I know it's not a complete brake but it's a start and fills up the wheels nicely. If your wheels have a center with a maximum diameter of 17mm the discs will slide on. For size reference. No paint or mods done yet in this picture just pressed them on. |

I got them at work. Always support your local metalsupplier. Here in Holland this material comes in 6 meter lengths. You will need industrial grade tools to work with this stuff. |

Chopped the 'slingers. And found a muscleless but hardrockin' driver worthy of driving this thing. |

First of all ''Happy New-year and best wishes''. Had some time to work on this thing so i added more functional but scale looking items. Rear mudguards. I added four plates to each coilspring to lessen the torquetwist. The plates clamp down three windings of the coil. This gives me a stiffer spring without cutting them down and a more controlled downtravel of the axle. The result is very noticable and there is hardly any twist left.Very neutral and stable.Far beyond my expectation. With a little shock-oil tweaking it should be good and will eliminate the need for a rear sway-bar. (don't mind the ugly cuts still working on it) The only thing i have to work on now is a little rear axle steer. It's only half a degree but it's there and has to go. But apart from that i'm pleased with the working of the suspension. |

Fresh paint for the beater body. I repainted an unused body. Not a perfect copy of Big Oly.More like a tribute. I'm working on the decals and details. I've got a question for the Ford people. There were factory/dealer upgraded versions of the Bronco with better parts. ('69,'70,'71??) One of those upgrades was a winch. Can you please tell me the brand and type of winches that specific Bronco originally came with? Thanks. |

I've been waiting for a Big Oly Bronco. It needs that big wing on the top. |

But like you said before there aren't many Big Oly RC's around so i have added it to the ''to do list''. The IFS will be the tricky part.

X-Acto blade is exactly what i used to cut the hood. First i mask off the line i want to cut. Then i stick a red hot needle in the corners to make a small hole. This will prevent the corners from tearing and gives you a nice starting point to score the lines. Score it deep along the maskingtape and snap it off. More pics will follow.

Smallest functional hinges i can make.Sheetmetal and a piece of rod. No holes yet because i will probably use glue to keep things scale. |
