I was having some issues figuring out the right link setup for the front uppers as well. i decided to run the front side on top of the plate, and just increase the bend in the links so that I can gain more clearacne regarding the binding issue when the suspendsion flexs. Plus it seemed to help with the caster. Beside tyhe bind issue, the uppers seemed like they were too long and clocked the axle more than I would like. Increasing the bend andle of the links cured both problems.

Don,

Are you going to, or have you considered selling the side plates for the chassis separately? I'm one of those guys that doesn't like to run without an extra of everything I might break, but don't really want to buy an extra skid and links etc. I hate the thought of not being able to fix my rig at a comp.

I ordered my SSS from RCHQ last week can't hardly wait to get it together. Though; I probably should wait till after the next comp on the 20th. I was concerned about the GC until I measured my SWX and discovered I won two comps with the GC at 2 3/8".

Yup, we will be offering all parts seperately. I'm adding new stuff to the store all the time...except today is a lil tough as we lost power from some bad storms last night.

do you think there is a way that you could make it a little taller?
like throwing in the option of side plates ( aftermarket add on or option? )

with a couple mount holes? say maybe i cut off the extra length? or not? who knows? maybe it works better 4 me......

looking foward to the riverwalk ... maybe the hobby shop on naco too..... if the wife lets me......
sorry for the shoddy drawing.

God this is killing me. Looks like the Scaler will have to wait and This will be the next project.

So can i ask now that alot of people have them. What do you all think are the advatages and disadvatages to this design?
Im intrested in knowing what everyone in thier experiance found is the best set up for these with weight, position of electronics, wheels size and weight, ect. I think that those of us intrested in buying this would like to have a better idea of what works and what doesnt so we dont invest in something that doesnt work.

If yuou read Don's post #190, he explains that he had to lower it back down because the design that had more ground clearance had issues with the suspension geometry. So I think he'd have to spend alot of time developing someting that would work. Simply raising the chassis at the axle would probably be more detrimental to performance than the the low GC would.

Thanks Scorp King.... although i prefer ground clearance. and lack the patience to read the whole forum. wonder if i should bust out the cog./art. chart....lol

also, very interested in how much weight (total overall, and in wheels) placement of electronics etc. that people are running...THINK I read someone else asking that too...
I like to run a little heavy, thought about double plates.

btw. AWESOME chassis, dynamic and unique. i don't want one, ITS NECESSITY! MUST HAVE ONE!

Thanks for all the input guys. I just keep havin more and more fun with this chassis. I have one setup on the light side (right at 4 lbs) and love it...then I have "Inferno" (pictured below) running almost 5.25 lbs. I'm using the same side plates, single per side, but have the rods spaced differently on the axles and my upper links a bit different. I spent some time as I do with any rig and tuned it to match my driving style. All that said, I have a tough time now choosing which one to drive

if you have an ARTR then all you need is the revo rod ends. This kit comes with all the hardware to put it together.

Hey Don...I saw earlier you were talking a bit about the newer BTA. What did you end up doing for that? Are your upper links still below the plate or did you move them to the top like in your original BTA pic?

Mine's almost done
