I certainly need a new set of tires before Nats. That is not the original axle housing. I wore a hole in it

Haha, I crawl to many couches I have *YET* to snap an axle housing but I should keep one on spares just in case. Considered those "boss rovers" for your car or, your going to be old school with "old tires"

They are not tall enough for me, I may make a set of Bossdonas using sedona sidewalls and proline caliburs, or I will just replace the sedonas. The rovers I have on the rear are still in great shape. This is the first axle housing I have "broken".

Nice, I have a pair of "haters" (rover + eclipse) sitting, aah just need to finish my rig up and pound em rocks into oblivion I totally got the science of the "little lugs" when I was at the beach with some crappy gladiators, did some good climbs despite a snapped c-hub... I think if you did "haters" or whatever, with some nice big foams inside, you should be able to pull it off

I don't mind the work, wrenching is half my fun, a good rebuild before nats is not a half bad idea either. I will not be going aluminum, it does not slide as well. I will be retiring these axles and tranny to a scaler build after this comp season. I am going with an XR10 for next year

They are revo ends, I do not have a caliper to measure the distance though. I can't wait to work with Juan on the moa version of this chassis!

It certainly is time to flip them or just replace them.

The I want the side walls for some bossdonas to use in 2011 is stewing, so I will probably buy new sedonas for the front for now.

If your making some tires, just make sure that your cuts are EVEN and the tires line up or they will look like crap. Heck they seem to hold good, I did a narrower tire on my 1/8 truggy with dollar store CA and it held up even in a WOT (tires in the air, looking like plates!) runaway

I do find this slightly ironic how just last week (I think) you were talking about having a spare axle housing "just in case." Hahaha.
