Just run the FXR. Drag brake is for wimps anyways.

I wired it all up and got it running tonight.

I forgot how much smoother castle speed controls are compared to tekins.
It's going to take some time to get used to the jumpy throttle again.

I originally planned to mount all my electronics under the 4 link plate, but my bubble was burst when I changed esc's.

I then grabbed a scrap piece of carbon I had laying around and built an extension for the 4 link plate.
I just hand cut it and then bolted it to the 4 link plate.
I spaced it down with an aluminum rod ball to get everything as low as possible.

And here it is all wired up and running

All I have been able to do so far is a little couch crawling and around the house silly stuff.
It actually feels very stable and controlled in all situations I can put it in. (Whatever that's worth?)

The funny part is this rig weighs almost a full pound less than my xr10.

I will get a final weight once I finish up mounting the body, but it weighed 4.05lbs on my initial weight check

I could easily get there.
I'm still running 7oz. Of KW per side on my xr10.

But that's not something I am worried about.
It runs good as is.

I am still going to try dropping the KW down before I head to Cali in a couple weeks for WCS though.

If you remove the standoff onthe battery side of your front li k plate, you could easily run the FXR under it ala EeePee style (the cap just need to hang out a little over the ahock mout). Decased rx could go under the servo side & BEC stuck to the back of the servo.

Although I love running AR60's for the immense steering angle they can easily get, you can't do the EeePee electronics packaging on them. Thay's something that is making me seriously insider going back to AX's on my sporty.

I had debated pulling the standoffs out, but decided that in a bad fall I could possibly break the mount and ruin my day if I landed on it right. Although the chances are slim that it would actually happen, i still decided to play it safe.

I was asked to post more photos of my steering setup.

The only spacer I am using is a rod ball on the bta drag link to space it up. I will probably end up using a smaller spacer to take some load off the screw, but this is how I have it setup for now.

I have zero interference, binding, or issues with this setup so far.
The tie rod rides just below the link mount.
It does hit the axle screw tabs at full lock. If I wanted to push the limit, I could just move the drag link to the outer set of holes though.

Here it is at full lock.

This is what I used for my drag link. Just like my xr10

Here you can see where it bottoms out at full lock.

This is full steer left. As you can see, it just barely gets into my servo.

And this terrible photo is showing how I have my C's clocked.
They are basically one extra spline back from what a stock xr10 will go.

The steering link is tucked close enough to the axle that I don't expect it to have much contact with the rocks.
Its probably the best steering setup I have ever had on any front mounted steering rig.

Hope this helps Troy.

Agreed! I've been running that same tie rod setup on my sporty for a while now and there are only a few marks on the rod. You are gonna love that setup!

It's perfect.. It looks like mine!

I'm on route to clocking the extra notch.. the wraith knuckles don't seem to keep the same angle as the xr knuckles in the same clocked position.. maybe its just me? It seems the wraith knuckles need the extra notch or they just seem to be steering normally.. I don't know how to explain it.. like there not clocked.
Anyways, chassis is looking wicked! I guess I won't have any problems hitting 4lbs on my sporty.
Hard to believe its a lb lighter then ur xr!
