I have the ears of the HH SHV500 mounted on the inside of the plate (on the motor/trans side) and the steering link is bolted to the servo side of the servo arm...all is good with clearances.

That's how I have mine mounted. It's tight in there though. The horn hits the pinon part of the cover. I guess since there's not much throw required to turn the wheels it's fine. It hits the endpoints just fine.

Same problem I went through. I had way less space between spur cover then everyone else, but I managed to get it all worked out and spur cover stayed!

I have the servo ears on the backside of the mount and steering link mounted on the back side of the servo horn with a button head through it and a mini 3mm lock nut right by spur cover and it just barely clears.

I think a lot of it has to do with your servo dimensions. I have my servo ears mounted outboard of the bracket and the drag link mounted outboard of the horn with plenty of clearance. I'm running the Promodeler V3 in my IFS Bomber.

Yes, but its the tranny plate mostly. Bill (and someone else, cant remember) was able to use a yeti center driveshaft up front, but its way to long on mine. I also remember comparing Bills motor location and his is at least 3/8" further back then mine.

It was the B1B Bomber's turn to go get dirty today. Great run and lot's of fun driving this rig although I snapped a Vanquish front axle today at the inner dogbone. Luckily I was carrying the stock Axial axles as spares; I do like that front axle changes are very quick and easy and the B1B was back up and running in no time at all.

Maybe eventually, I have a couple pairs of spares that I will use up first.

....the clean-up, detailing & maintenance routine with the B1B. It's a good thing I stripped 'er down, I found the three long bolts that go thru the transmission into the motor plate had loosened off and the motor was quite loose. Fortunately, the spur and pinion were not damaged.

Good thing you caught that! Which motor plate are you using, stock or?

I did a run this weekend, that I will post about shortly, but being a newb with trying to discover it's capabilities and showing off with my kids, I feel I'm really hard on this truck - the Dlux front axle is really holding up well. Very impressed with it.

I'm using the Wraith trans with the stock Axial motor plate. This time I added some blue Loctite to the bolts so I should be fine now.

Hey Bil, you can check out the SuperShafty motor plate or BWD plate. They use countersunk screws that go from the front of the plate through the entire trans and are held by locknuts on the back of the housing. They are both thicker and stronger to keep the motor from flexing the plate and incorporate an extra mounting point at the outside housing screw. Both are less than $25 and they're all I use on my trans builds now. The supershafty is a good option for keeping the stock spur cover.

The way to keep the motor mount from loosening up is drill out the threaded holes in the plate with a 3mm bit and run M3x30 button head screws in from the front and a lock nut in the back. Same concept as the Super Shafty and BWD plates but it works well with the stock plate too.
