Hopefully these will hold oil for awhile.

Little more box and mud guard work, the one non-countersunk screw inside the box will not be there after my right side guard and box mount rework.

Re-made the left side mud guard, bent up at rear to keep more dirt out of the chassis, no more screws inside the electronics box.

Changing tranny mirroring so motor is on right side of chassis, but behind the motor plate. I'm making room for a 550 motor. I've always run my slipper locked down, should I get rid of the slipper clutch?

No, you may need it with the 550.

I run my slipper too. My rig weighs about 8lbs. So with plastic gears and no slipper cluytch spells disaster for me lol. If ur running metal gears and steel driveshafts u could delete that sucker if u wanted too.

I have this thing about symmetry, I wish you would have bent both mud guards to be the same on both sides. I'm having a hard time sleeping at night after seeing this. 2 stars

I like to drive with the throttle, but will let off if it's in a bad bind.

All metal tranny gears, HD OD gears up front with HR spool.

What size pin did you put in your top gear and slipper when you drilled them oversize?

Me too, but it's a clearance thing Clarence. Rock light needs room to be adjusted fore and aft and I wanted the electronics box to be as far forward as possible.

It was "the right size". I can't tell you as that's classified racer information right there.

It's bugging me so can you fix it? Move the box back 1/16th and bend it like the other one... dammit. Or maybe just add a firewall (between the batt. & trans) to connect the two sides, then I can my sleep back.

LOL

Hmmm, I like the firewall idea...I cut CD case lid in half for front innner fenders, but it's kinda heavy and it cracks kinda easy even though it's flexible. Either way it'll look better with firewall, inner fenders, etc. and help keep crap out of the chassis and spur.

I have a vision using ques from this thread. Tastefully done fender wells and firewall.
JP's Cookie "Mog"ster

I don't think the cd cases are the answer.

Nice, sweet build thanks for the link. I don't think cd cases are either, was thinking about buying another piece of that thin black plastic. Gotta find out what kinda glue to use for it.

I've tried super glue, and CA glue...and it doesn't glue very well, maybe the guys at TAP can help, but I never tried styrene glue.

Had somebody pm asking, "Hey I saw your post about running hr steel wheels. I have a set of them lying around and was curious if you have tried the 5 lug hex adapter on them and if it worked? I'm just not that crazy about pin drive wheels."

My wheels are 6 lug and came with hex drive hubs, the hex drive hub for 5 lug wheels should work fine with pin drive 5 lug wheels. RC4WD hex hubs for 6 lug bolted up to mine, so I would think that the 5 lug RC4WD version would work.

Stock FXR capacitor....good for up to 3s....hehehe...bumping up capability to 4s...

Some electronics box configurations, I haven't settled on which one yet:

Well, I finally read through the entire build thread. It took several days. I'm looking forward to see what else you have in store for your Honcho.

Thanks, I think you'll like it!

Hmmm, well I was going with my last pic's configuration, but rotate the larger capacitor (and bend the leads) 90 degrees so that it is over the esc housing. I may go with your setup though, either way I'll rotate the capacitor to get it out of the way.
