| DrDiff952"s O.P.A.T. Wraith
Well, I don't have the biggest pockets or tons of sponsorship. So it is O.P.A.T. One Piece At a Time Or $50 every two weeks. The plan is for a Wraith, FlySky GT3C radio, Castle Creation 10 Amp BEC, Axial AE2 ESC, Traxxas Titan 550 motor, Battery and Charger So far I have purchased a CC 10amp BEC, and the Axial AE2 ESC. I will update as I add parts, Pix wen I can Last edited by DrDiff952; 02-27-2014 at 10:52 PM. |

The plan is to enjoy it and do the upgrades when stuff brakes. Thought I forgot to mention the DMG Differential Skid Plates. I will be building it with the battery up front (behind the firewall) and will put the radio box in the factory battery location. I want to also get a set of bead locks from the start. Right now I guess the idea is to have the radio and electronics stuff on hand before I get the kit. (Yes I am waiting on my tax return for the kit) . Probably go ahead and get a Traxxas Titan 550 E-Maxx motor, next that would leave the steering servo and servo horn last before the Kit. |

You can get a 27t trailmaster sport 540 HH motor for 11.99 plus shipping....i dont know if a 550 traxxas emaxx will fit properly....my torquemaster sport 540 27t HH motor was only 41.00 with motor leads installed...34 without....

The 550 is the same diameter but slightly longer in length but has, more torque than a 540. Also they have built in cooling fans. And external metal sleves ot torque rings. Avilable at any shop that sells traxxas parts $19.99. Motor leads installed. Though I may swap them out for Deans plugs

the bullet connectors on the motors are pretty good, the deans connector would be better on the ESC for the battery, at least I have never had an issue with the standard bullet connectors anyway |

would be initeresting to see how much difference in torque there is between the traxxas 550 and the handwound torquemaster pro I have..... as I understand it, the fewer turns the faster the rpm and less torque while higher turns equal less rpm but more torque..unless I didnt understand correctly...

I remember from my pan car days more turns meant less rpm. More wires wrapped around the poles meant a broader torque curve. In other words. .. a 12 turn is faster than a 27 turn. Now a 14 single wind is like an on off switch and a 14 quad wind is very smooth, but with the same rpm.

Well much to my surprise my ESC came today. I need to solder the Deans connector on the battery leads and splice the BEC leads to it as well. Then to program the BEC to function at 6 volts. Battery and charger should be here on Monday. No word on the tax check yet. A Tx / Rx will be here next weekend. So lets see what still is needed. Kit, motor, steering servo, bead locks, and DMG differential skid plates. |

If you don't like mutilating the radio plugs when using a bec check out holmeshobbies site for bec bypass adapters. Cool little plug. Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk |
