I got this for a friend, i ordered it sterilized and colored but that's what you can pull off on highly polished TI

I still think he can put some paint on it

True fact: On formula one cars they use specially engineered "light weight paint" and put on like a FRACTION of the paint they put on a regular car. Its pretty insane. I can see Hittman doing the same
What I am getting wont add weight..

And hmm sounds interesting.. but Everett is right, that would still be too heavy for me

Ok, I went out for some more practice before the comp today.. This time a little different scenery. I went to the same place where the video in this thread was shot. Again, one of my favorite places due to practically umlimited traction. The chalk from the comp was still there so I ran the courses we had set up The rig did much better of the vertical parts and down hilled much better as well. Onto some pics..

First up with this set up verticals

Rig on it for heigth reference

More..

This one was a fun line..

I struggled with this one for a while, but once I hit the right line it walked up it.

And finally, my favorite climb of the day. The pics really do not do this justice. This climb was a prime example of why I love crawling here. The top "lip" of the rock was about 11" off the ground. The under cut on the rock was super nasty. Dig all the way till the rear lifts off the ground and drive right up

I'm jealous... wish I had a place like that to crawl around on. I hate snow...

Side note: powder coat will not add weight. Look in the paint in the vendor sec.... my buddy has a powder coating service and he proves that it don't add any weight. Its so minute that his scale won't pick it up. Just saying. Race cars use a light weight paint, yes I agree.... however a race car is a lot bigger then a 1/10 RC. The size if the parts are so small that it won't make a bit of difference whatsoever.

Its nice having so many rock options close to home..

And Yeah, ax10tn.. His stuff looks great. Someone else on here is hooking me up with some annodizing though. I really dont think that it will add any weight.. Like you said the parts are so small it wont make a difference..

Yeah his stuff turns out badass... however, I'd take anodizing over powder coat any time. That's going to look sick.... do you know what color yet?

I agree. I like the gloss of the annodizing over the dust look of the powder coating. I am just getting blue..

We had our 4th comp of the season today.. A brisk 13 degrees at start time The day was filled with tough courses and good times.. The switch drove me to another beautiful second place finish Today, it was purely the driver that was messed up. After two courses I had the lead with a 19 point advantage between me and second.. Then, the third course is when it all went to hell. Everything went fine until gate six.. I didn't make it once, got pisses off. I didn't make it the second time, got even more pissed, and then it went down hill from there,, next thing I knew the judge called time out.. But of course the second place person had to pull off a -30 on the same course.. So it was my fault. O wells.. I had fun. Isn't that what it is about??

Over all I am happy with how all the changes are effecting it. New link placement is kick ass! A few things should change over the next two weeks, and I hope to have them done by the next comp

I really like where they are now.. But I am hoping this week I can test the lower hole in the link mount.. Keeping the chassis spot the same, but moving it down at the axle. But, we will see how I feel this week

Don't know how I missed this thread. That poly chassis is pretty sweet. Does it drive via telepathy like WW's invisible plane, lol?
