I bought a tactic ttx300, does anyone have one?
What's it like?
Range?
Cheers Ben

My ar-3 receiver went haywire. I called axial and they discontinued that model. They sent me the ttx300 radio and receiver for free. So far it's been a little glitchy and more of a pain to get the steering tuned in. I ended up swapping it with my 1/10 yeti(same ar-3 receiver) and put the ttx300 in my 1/10. I'm getting it dialed in for the baby yeti. I did not like it on the Yeti XL. Just my opinion. I didn't get to check the range on the XL. Seems to be ok for the baby yeti. Waaaaaaaaaaay shorter range than the futaba 3pl (also discontinued)
The ttx300 receiver doesn't have an antenna. Then it's buried under the esc. Maybe I'm having range issues cause of that. Any way, let me know what you find out. I hate to base an opinion on just my one experience.

Hey mate, to be honest, for $40 I can't fault it so far, range seems decent and it's run like a dream so far. I also ran it in my boat and I didn't go to far but the range still seemed good, not futaba good but for the price it's not at bad little transmitter and receiver.

But admittedly I've run a clitch buster since I put it in and it's been perfect.

Lols yes done that, I did manage to snap the tailshaft pin at the tranny end in that session.

Lucky I had few spare.

I agree for $40.00. The ax-3 radio and ar-3 receiver was $85.00. $30 just for the receiver. So I am disappointed they didn't match the quality and price range of my replacement. The ttx300 isn't as good as that product, but they discontinued it for a reason. Was it for more profit or a problem. My other yeti xl is still using the old set up and runs great.

fair enough, i do have my eye on a new futaba but id rather build another YXL and buy another ttx300 to go with it.

my next project though is a general Lee, i have the body from my savage flux, i just need to find a chassis it will fit perfect on and make it fast.

if it is glitchy as in servo glitchy, add a capacitor to the receiver.

It rained and I worked this weekend so no fun for me, so i tried the dust cover idea, turned out pretty good, just waiting for some heat shrink and il finish it off.
But it will still work well for now.

I have a bec for the servo power. Do people run 2, one for the receiver and servo? It's a mamba monster x.

One it's enough, the receiver's consumption is negligible. But why do you need a BEC? I'm running a pretty potent Savox 1270TG on MMX and never felt like I need one

The internal bec on the esc is around 5v. I wanted to get the most out of it on 7.4v.

No, on MMX BEC is programable up 8V I believe. You will need a field link portable programmer or a Castle link usb programming kit, though

Yes but the axial ar-3 receiver is only rated for 6v.

Are you able to setup mmx aux wire with ttx300 3rd channel and everything work on the fly?

Default Aussie yeti XL

Damn, jumping a few jumps out the back and bang!! busted a shock cap and both side mounts!!!

Oh I used the front shocks on the rear, trying out a couple of set ups, too stiff, lesson learned, keep em soft in the ass.

The wait for parts to arrive.

Hmm Might get the aluminium shock mounts.
