I would rather install a plastic RPM shock mounts. Don't you want a little flex in there instead of bending and throw away? And, ultimately, something gotta give. Let it be something cheap

I have the GPM shock mounts on mine. Well I wouldnt really call them shock mounts, more ali bracings as they spread the load from the shock over 2 screws rather than 1 as I mount the shock as originally specified in the manual. Ive managed to brake a top rear arm before I have broken anything off the shock/holder, and I'm running the stock plastic shock caps.

I'm keeping most of the rear end plastic at the moment so it can brake when I do something stupid rather than bending/snapping expensive ali parts. My front end is mostly ali to hold the diff etc all together, and so far with the original gears it's working well, the bearings have taken a few hours abuse and no grinding from the front.

I'll take some photos when I replace the driveshaft and rear upper arm

You can change some of the settings on the fly, but not all of them. Read the manual to figure it out what and how

Guys why can't I get the locking ring on the back of rim, it's really tight and I've nearly had to bash it, surely it should slide on reasonably easy?

Tight is right lol the wheel looks to be used.. maybe it's deformed... this is one of the best up grades for the XL!!
I'm adding extra slots for my 40 series wheels.. it's only aluminum so material removal is easy..

To remove the ring from the wheels I use a paint lid pry bar lol
Works awesome

It was the wheel that nearly stripped so yeah could be deformed. Il try another wheel.

I used a slightly less stiffer shock set up in the rear today and it went well but, it does drive a tad different, on full squirts it wants to spin around quicker, I rolled it more than any other run today, it behaves like a locked diff so to say, so I'm going to go back to near stock Spring until I put the rear sway bar in.

I ordered new lipo's today, team Orion 6000mah 3s.

They will not fit yeti trays but I will work something out, they are a perfect fit for my savage flux.

I installed the axial soft rear sway bar today and I must say, I like how it handles now, drives in more of a straight line and you still get some torque twist.

Although the wild ride before was heaps of fun.

Ok guys It had been raining all day yesterday and I went to the park and found a decent pool of water to drive across...

Firstly no video footage (long story)
2nd, your yeti XL with paddle's will easily drive over water!!!! I'd advice on 6s
It's pretty cool.

I'm going to try it again soon and film it.
If I was going to do it regularly I'd gear down for more torque. But il do it once more for camera so I won't be making any changes to gears.

If your thinking about trying it, I'd personally have both front and rear swaybar's to help keep all 4 wheels on the water.
I only had the rear installed and when the car loose's some momentum the car starts to work hard to stay afloat and your front wheel starts to lift (twist torque), now that means only 3 wheels are doing all the work, which slows you down even more, now it won't stop n sink, it just does it slower and your motor is working harder.

It also drained my batteries really fast, I reckon they lasted 10mins compared to 25mins.

Pick up new lipo's for a good price. Zippy 5800mah 3s
They fit very nice as well.
So hopefully a little longer run time.

Well my tail shaft gave out today, not too bad considering it twisted a bit not long after i got it, lucky I ordered a new one yesterday. I must have run atleast 20 packs with a twisted shaft.

I also got some awesome action shots with the slr.

Quick up date, haven't looked at my yeti in over a month, life n shit gets in the way.
So after replacing the drive shaft I found another problem, I blew the rear diff, so I order new parts which take a month to arrive and then realise I blew the front one as well!!!! Shit
Bugger waiting for parts, take out front dog bone pin and wallah!!
Rear wheel drive yeti XL

Took it for a spin at the beach today, it is just as crazy. Pops wheelies with ease on dry sand and spins heaps on wet.... heaps of fun
Then a wire ripped of one of the deans connectors. Damn

Finally got the yeti going again today, replaced the diff.
I have been struggling to get the front wheels straight, no matter what I adjust or move just couldn't get it right, then I found the front protector guard thingy was bent, that happened months ago when I hit a sandstone slab full speed.
