Default Ty's Metal Works

I have been making scale rock crawling chassis for several years now. I have also been selling them nearly as quickly as I make them, so I have decided to do sporadic runs of chassis I make for the public.

The first run of chassis is the Raisin 2.1. This is loosely based on a 1:1 rig with some custom touches added. This is a run of 4 chassis all very similar with minor changes done to each one to keep each one unique.

This chassis is designed around 1.9 tires and a wheelbase approximately 12.25"

No chassis currently available.

This is the first one completed.

And a little small tire wrong wheelbase mock up.

This is the second one:

The third one:

All servo mounting locations will not be drilled due to the variety of servo posts available.

Pricing:
Currently no chassis are available.

Shipping:
per chassis 15.00 shipped for Parcel post
OR
Per chassis 20.00 shipped for priority mail.

Pre-orders:
Pre orders are now being taken on the current run of chassis.

Custom orders:
Currently I am not doing custom orders, chassis will come in runs of 3 or 4 at a time.

Build threads:
The Raisin 2.1 (X4)
The Star Wars inspired, mud boggin' StarFighter
The Crawl Space Heep
A couple of Raisins
Rusty's Jeep
Turtle's RC4WD Scaler Build Off Entry TW40
Runnin' Raptor
Rally Rocker
Little TJ
Taco Time!
Wyld Stallyn!
A little Toyota named Scuba Tank
WEEE! Rocker
Just a clone, Unimog
The Tuna Tunnel

As the other chassis are completed they will be added to this thread.

Thank you for your interest.

-Ty

Nice, I've always thought your work was top notch. I've forgotten about some of the amazing rigs you've built so this thread is a good blast from the past so to speak. But my favourite was scuba tank v2 and the fj40. Keep up the good work.

Any chance you'll do a run of the taco time buggy again?

umm... probably not. That was a pretty material intensive build, plus the honcho cab, scx10 chassis, and bed sides it would also be kinda expensive. I would not say it is completely off the table, but probably not any time soon.

You have any Quality photos of the work you've done in the past or just those camera phone pics?

Good stuff sir, loved the Taco Time truck in a NWSC.

Cool, I kinda figured that. I've built trucks and know the time that goes into it. I subscribed so I'll be keeping an eye out for a chassis that catches my eye.

Sorry just my 1987 photos.

Thanks Josh it was a fun rig, but the Raisin chassis is a better performing rig that is much easier to work on.

Rok Out should be able to a test to that he has a Raisin and Taco time.

That one was built for a buddy. It was a one off and roughly 100 hours of work. I could possibly make another one, but the price might be what some would refer to as "silly expensive".

I can imagine I just read through the build thread. As I looked at the pics and read the thread, I was like well maybe not lol.

Wouldn't mind one based around either a f650 body or I just score a couple fast lane grand Cherokees. Kinda small but might make a nice 1.5er

If you would like to pursue a custom scale chassis on one of those platforms I would love to hear your ideas and working out some logistics.
Feel free to PM me and we can start working on the details.

I have made three of them in the past. So...

I can potentially, yes. PM if you would like to talk more about it.

Was wondering if you could PM me a quote on a custom chassis like Taco Time. Maybe something less expensive but still has the looks.
