Default Anything servo. This is the place to post or ask.

If you have a question about a servo ask here. Where to buy, which servo best suits your specific application, servo specs, comparisons, ANYTHING. This is the place for all of your questions and I and other members will do our best to answer them. Lets not clutter up the forums with the most famous what servo do I get for my stock -------. I've been really busy with work and my 5 month old, but when I have some spare time I'll start posting up some specs of the more popular servos. Also any others that you want to know about. Just ask.

Great idea! Any time we can consolidate information to a central easy to find location I am all for it.

I think it would be awesome to not only list specs but separate out servos by typical application (2.2 comp rig, 1.9 scaler, etc) and by price point (budget, middle of the road, and spare no expense) so that its easy for people to find the right servo for their application at the price that they are willing to spend.

That is my idea. Put as much information in one thread about all the servos, choices, prices, ect. Let's see if we can keep this alive and going instead of clogging forums full of the same questions over and over again.

Sure......:
What rig?
What pack voltage?
Do you comp or not?
Do you run an external BEC? (you should in my book if over ~200inoz).
Is servo size an issue?

Have hobbico cs 170, broke ears off, I searched around looks like hitec 5955 or 7955 has same case. Is this true? If so who is a good vendor for servo parts?

Here is a question, would 220 oz be sufficient for recreational crawling? 2.2 wheels and tires. Pro Line Hammers on an XR10.

Not sure on the cross reference.

I use either Tower Hobbies or ServoCity for parts.

Probably for a "fun rig". You will likely be pushing it at times. One advantage is that you may skate by on the internal BEC for that torque output.

Savox SC0251MG Digital Servo
you may want to step up to the savox 1256tg. it is 222oz at 4.8v and 277oz at 6v. priced at $80. for that kind of price jump you can get a high tec 5995, 333oz at 6v, 417oz at 7.4 and its only $70. high tech is a much higher quality servo and they have great customer service and repairs do not cost during warranty coverage. strip gears, burn motors, melt wires, break the case, its covered. however savox does not cover stripped gears and they are $30-35 per gear set.

This servo rotates 180 degrees... do you think that is a good idea on a crawler? I suppose you could limit it with EPAs, but aren't you going to lose resolution then?

maybe a bit but it is still hands down better than a savox. and you can also have servo city turn it down to what ever rotation degree you'd like for an extra $10.

Hobbico cs-170 same as a hitec, made by hitec... Like Toyota an Lexus.... Same car parts same company, ones top of the line an ones even better! I don't think you get a life time service with the hobbico tho... I'm not sure tho I just think I read it once.. never tested it to see.. never had any problems with the cs-170 an deff never any with my hitecs..

very pleased with Savöx.

did run hitec before, busted metal gears.

0 problems so far with savöx.

Hitec 7954sh. 400 oz @ 7.2v and 333 oz @ 6v.

Can be had for under $100 if you look. Really good deal imo.
Overkill for a scaler. A budget option for a comp crawler.

it may be over kill, but you wont have to worry about it. but like said above, you can get the 5995 for $70 and it is a 417oz servo. even more of a budget servo and cheaper than a savox 1268.

i have an xr-10 and i need a servo. Haven't done any comps yet but I plan to. Money doen't matter because I don't want to buy twice. I'm going to be running a cc 10amp bec with it. What are your thoughts on a few good servo options? Thanks
