It's a great ESC for the money! This and the HobbyKing X-Car 45A are the only brushed ESC's I run in my crawlers.

Mine came In today, but didn't realize it didn't have adjustable drag brake. Rather the mode selection and lipo/nimh. But desk testing works fine. Hoping to trail run it this weekend |

I am running the new AE-5 on my axial ram scx10... works fine for me, I have no issues with it on 3s lipo, only thing I did was switch the tamiya connector out to a deans connector.

And during my tests of the rig it worked great, and the guy who got the rig now uses it, and it preformes very well. I also used it in a single motor rig that i wanted to use on 4s, and just connected all leads to one motor. It worked great. But I dont see a huge market for it, but perhaps im little blind. Since most people would use two esc in a MOA to get dig, I have used two hobbywing 1060 with great luck in a XR10. Perhaps as a upgrade ESC for those cheap MOA riga this could be a good option, such as the Redcat/HBX/HSP. For a Summit for example I think its a little bit to small, since it has a turn limit on 24t and the summit with dual titans has 21t motors | |

I'm running 2 of these in my big super scaler on 3s, mad torque axles and 40 series mickey thompson Baja Claws with no problems, and my son runs 1 in his scx10 and been submerged a few times and no issues with his either, drag brake works fine too.

The AE-5 is not re-badged quicrun 1060. The 1060 is smaller but is 60a the older quicrun 1040 is more similar to the AE-5 but has different jumper programing and is 40a. The 860 though would work great with a cloud. |

I liked the ae5 but I had mine running a 27 turn axial motor in my g6 with stock gearing and had it burn up on 3s but called and there sending me a new one so hopefully it was just a dud |
