Yes it should. Especially with it's high amp capability. Just like HH crawlmaster vs. torquemaster motors. The crawlmaster line is 5 slot which means lower number of turns is relatable to a 3 slot's higher number of turns. For example a 16t crawlmaster will be similar in wheelspeed to a 30-35t torquemaster. 13t CM is similar to 27t TM I'm not an expert on the situation, just know enough to be dangerous. The 5 slot has smoother startup, but the 3 slot has more torque.

Swapping the esc would do nothing if he already had an esc that ran the 13t motor it. It would all appear fine. Swapping motors to a compatible turn would show if the esc were the problem. Put a compatible motor in and if it runs perfect you know it was the 13t that caused the problem. If the problem persists with a compatible motor then you know its the esc.

Motor turns with brushed determines amp draw and rpm and the 13t in question is easily within the 1080's capabilities. If another motor is tried and it works fine with the other motor that doesn't eliminate bad gear mesh (if meshed badly with the first motor) or a bad motor

I got plenty of feedback which is much appreciated. I'll mess with it and report back. Could be a lot of things. Just thought somebody might have a definitive answer.

The only important factor when worrying about if your brushed ESC can handle a brushed motor is the amp limit on the ESC and how many amps the motor pulls The ESC has no way of knowing what size of motor or how many turns it has.

I have the HH 13t in my Wraith and SCX10. 3S in the Wraith and 2S in the SCX10. 32p spur & pinion in both running 56/10 with underdrive gears in front and rear of both. Been running this way for a few months now. Everything is smooth as silk and stays nice and cool.

Alrighty, I'm all set up for another test run. Current config is a HH Trailmaster Sport 27t (wired in the correct direction) with an 11t pinion (stock was 13), 3S power, and the rest is stock SCX10ii. Settings are as follows. 3,1,3,9,4,3,7,1,9,1,1,3,4,1,1 Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |

I've trimmed my cables right back now and got it really nice and neat looking. Likewise with the settings. Each time i take it out, i find a few more adjustments i can make to get it perfect to how i want it. Bit less drag brake, less punch control, more start power and 16k resolution and that should do it |

Got my rig running fine. Or at least it seems to be fine. It was snowing today so I didn't take it outside but a whole pack of basement trials including some intentional binding didn't cause any issues. I think the transmission was a little tight
