ok, reversing the motor via programming still doesn't get rid of the problem of slow speed in one direction compared to the other. i would have to reverse two wires to get the faster direction to be forward. it wasn't ran unmounted, it was bolted to the trans, had pinion, was run thru a full drivetrain less wheels and tires. we're talking less than a minute, just to figure setup.

Default Novak Rooster ESC and 55T motor

I'm not having glitch problems but my drag brake has gone away. Kinda like a worn out clutch. The motor used to be able to hold steady on an incline now it wants to creep back a little or all the way down before it locks in. Could it be that the brushes need cleaning or replacing?

Hut: Correct, the ESC applys the brake to the motor, but if the motor is worn, the brakes may not be as strong as they once were. A cut and clean on the motor may fix the situation.

Well got the brushes out and they are chewed up on the edges so I just ordered new brushes and springs.

Default Loss of drag brake

Lately I have noticed my drag brake not holding like it should. The Rooster Crawler is a new replacement and the motor (Novak 55) has less than ten hours on it. I found that adjusting the throttle trim made a difference. Has anyone else found this or am I just imagining things?.

I have no pending emails.

SD, redo the One Touch Setup on the ESC. The trigger in your radio may not be returning to the same spot. This is rather common, the triggers are very basic "pots" that wear over time.

Thanks for the reply Charlie. My radio is a brand new DX3E but I think the last time I re-programmed it the throttle trim was way off so I re-set it and re-programmed the esc and all is good now.

Clean it, yes. But it won't really do anything to get/keep it round which is also important.

gday guys, just wondering how long it usually takes to get a reply from novak about issues with their product?

myself and a mate both recently bought the novak M2 esc with dig. his worked perfectly straight away where as mine works, but only has reverse for the front diff. cuts out when used after 30 seconds, shows a single blue flashing led, couldnt find that one in the manual.and once it cuts out, need to go through the one touch settings to make it work again, but everytime, still no reverse for rear motor.

ive sent a couple of very detailed emails to the novak tech team about this.
no reply as yet.

Looks like about 11 minutes.

OK, I jest....likely Charlie just happend by soon after you posted. Since I have never had a Novak issue (although I own about 8 Novak ESC's) I don't know what their customer service is like.

i recently ( 2 weeks ) ago bought the goat 2s with the 18.5 motor . it was installed into a losi comp crawler . it seamed to do pretty good , never even got hot to the finger. i have a small garage setup and it was doing good . then i noticed my rear dig wasn't working so i had the truck on my garage floor setting the end points for my dig servo . it finally clicked into rear dig and was set. i spun the rear tires a bit then released the dig back to 4 wheel drive . and puff white smoke came from my motor . no shorts anywhere , no lose wires , i shrink wrap everything .. so im at a loss for words . i see in the manual that it says over heated motors are not covered . but then why do that have a thermal shut off ? and shouldnt the shut off kept it from getting to hot .. ? please help as to what i should do ..

the system
