So weird cause I didn't have that problem with mine but I remember that you did.

I'll run my next set of blues at full pins to see what gives. In my world the silvers performed better minus some pins. I'd like to leave them all in place to extend wear if possible.

I need to join you at Moab.

Which servo do you use? I have the cb20s just like yours in my dlux axle truck with the 7950 and have no issues.....have you tried a different servo to make sure there isn't a problem with the servo that's being amped by the magnets...

I consider the "junk in the trunk" to be the rear weights. IMO, gotta have a little back there, just take it easy.

Come to think of it, I have the CB20 in my super with the 7980 touching the motors, no issues for me either.

I dont doubt cutting some pins would help a lot. I just want to keep them uncut like you, for wear and smoothness. With the pins, in the rear, I am willing to trade smoothness for grip. I am going to mount my blues in the front and try them uncut too, I dont have much faith that I can leave them uncut but I will give it a shot. BTW, I think Moab about ruined my tires. I would say that my silvers are about 1/2 done and the blues are now about 1/3 done.

Moab would be fun! I would be down for St.G too. From memory, just about the same type of rock, only closer to you.

I can appreciate the tire wear you are seeing. The sweet spot on these pins is a transient thing. Best to have a set or two parked for comps.

StG would be cool.

Usually, obstacles dont look very hard on camera. Seems to me that all the Moab obstacles looked even worse on video? Either way, here is a somewhat lengthy video I put together. While watching it, I was reminded of golf. It made me want to take a nap, LOL.

Sorry the camera is a bit shaky. My camera mount (radio) is broke so it wiggles around.

Great video. I would have expected the slick rock to provide a little more traction than that for the crawler. Having driven my Jeep and ridden my mountain bike there it's surprising that the crawler spun tires at all.

All that was missing from the video was the barking tire noises.

Funny, the tires did make a different sound, not barking though. Your comment made me think a bit about traction in general. I am just thinking out loud but would guess that a car, mountain bike or even RC crawler would basically be able to do a climb of the same angle, or close to it. I think the reason that RC cars can excell at climbing crazy things is due to ledges and things to grab on to. If its all slick rock and pin tires (I wouldnt run a lug tire in Moab however), I think the opportunity to grab ledges and sharp rocks is much less. To put it another way, I think if I were to climb a vertical smooth surface, I think I would be able to do anything a 4x4 or bike could do without slipping a tire.

I feel like my car is complete now. I cannot tell you how long I have wanted these centers.

Unfortunately, I didnt get much time on them as my radio decided it had enough. Of the 1/2 pack I did get to run, the cases felt great. Its going to be tough to match the Nylon cases though..... they were crazy slick! I hope to have a new radio early next week so I can give a report on these. For now, they will just have to sit and look good.

Those center sections are sweet.

That wiring is not.

Thanks Kev, I appreciate it.

Lets just say that view of my wiring is as bad of a view as you could get. Youre seeing it all in one spot in that underside pic, my balance plug, battery wires.... basically every single wire I have in my car is in that one shot.. All my wires go in my receiver horizontally instead of vertically like a typical receiver so it looks messier from that side.

Thanks!

Now I just get to sit and look until my radio shows.... I hate waiting for things. I think my radio is about the only thing I dont have a spare of anymore. I think I will change that.

Ya Eric, I didn't understand what was being said when I read " aluminum centers". Now that I see em in pics, I get it. Looks killer. Great work!

Thanks!

I hope they end up being a great option for the super lites and also the replacement cases.

Watching your video make me think. Ohio is a terrible place for someone to love to play on rocks. I like the slow methodical driving. None of that lunge and hope it works stuff.

Yeah, I am very grateful for the rock that we have here. There are actaully lots of places that have boulders too but we tend to stay away from them. We do think of all you East coasters every time we look at them and turn our heads... LOL
