But wait, there's more, for you gram counting junkies!

2 year old RC Axle Master Rear 6mm Axles
DLux Rear 8mm Axles are made from 7075 aluminum and are 8mm at the hex, 7mm all the way to the locker.
Adds approx 3/16 per side or 3/8 over all to the track width. This lets you run a narrower hub for even lighter wheel combo.

STRC C-Hubs
Axial C-Hubs

Stock Gear case covers
DLux Gear case covers

Stock Upper 4 Link mounts
DLux Upper 4 Link mounts, touch heavier but alot of adjustability

Berg cases, motor mount area shaved by local machinist, removed 5 grams each case by doing that.
I dremeled off 4-5 grams from the cases. Still need to smooth sand em.
Cases weight 36 grams each right now.

Front axle coming together.
DLux front delrin tube, VP Zero Ackerman knuckles, Axial C-Hubs, 300 axle shafts, homemade brass weights with homemade holders.
Made up a carbon fiber 4 link with the DLux case mount.
I was able to run the steering link under the knuckles and with a little bit of case shaving, no steering linkage rebuild needed. I set the caster about the same as I had it before. Not too much, not too little.

Yep, nothing fancy. Just a Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster Pro with Handwound armature (5mm web 3slot), stand up brushes with 10mm comm, gold plated copper brush hoods, FB9 magnets, ABEC bearings, Holmes XX springs, fat pack wire option on the armature and matched up for an MOA. Nothing too fancy. Oh and a Chad30w communicator "Nationals" cut.

Unless I am missing something that link mount will make it so your not centered now. You might be able to simply add a spacer between the rod end and CF though to bring it back to center? Or, you could build a shorter/longer link.

I was thinking the same thing. Short of that, nice work on the refresh Shane

Your not missing it. I will be running a spacer of some sort. Just wanted to make this up and see if it would work with my steering setup. I made one for the rear 4 link mount as well.

I have only gotten about 15 minutes the last few nights to work on this rebuild and I just took some random pictures.

4lbs 4oz is feeling pretty good after a swap to red springs out back, widening the shock mounting points at the chassis further and a shock oil refill. Same knuckle weight as before, 2 oz each side.

Chasing electronic gremlins now. Front ESC/Motor was glitching and acting up, now the front ESC will not arm.

Thanks. Swapping over to the DLux Delrin tubes is pretty straight forward if you have dismantled a berg a time or two. I set the lower link/shock mounts to stock berg dimensions since my that is what my lower links are setup for. I read up on DLux's threads and those helped me along the way.

Only issue I had was the DLux 8mm rear axle shafts' engagement into the new RcBro's aluminum lockers. Tolerances are meant to be tight for the two but the axle tangs weren't going far enough into the lockers. Couple pm's to DLux and I gently filed off material on the axle shaft tang until they fit but still a snug fit. Good to go now .

I can definitely tell the difference from 4lbs 6oz to 4lbs 4oz. More testing and tuning to ensue...

Been a while since I updated this thread. No changes from the 4lbs 4oz setup just before 2012 Nationals. Truck just works right now.

I ended up driving this rig to a 23rd place finish at Nats this year.
I had two battery failures or my day might have been better.

BC paints!, custom lexan works picked me up for the 2013 as well. Glad to represent another great RCC vendor.

First comp of the 2013 ARCC season yesterday and I was able to get the win. Tough competition as usual with ARCC. Had a signal wire come off on my rear ESC on one course. Luckily Helhedded had his solder gun and a power converter.

2.2 pro 8 gates, 6 minutes
NAME COURSE 1 COURSE 2 COURSE 3 COURSE 4 TOTAL
1 Szczerba 7 -26 -13 7 -25
2 ROLANDROCKSHOP 26 -9 -14 -19 -16
3 helhedded 26 -26 -5 4 -1
4 Rootar 5 -16 -16 26 -1
5 WooPigSooie 26 -25 6 7 14

Only got one picture from yesterday but a few more may show up as well as a video or two in the near future.

All the http://www.dluxfab.com/products axle parts are holding up great.

Yep, it's usually a toss up who wins at ARCC comps. We thought Josh had pulled out the win when we all left the comp spot but excel found some judging errors. We all drove good Saturday.
Bald Knob Lake is a cool spot. A little more water was there than the last time they went so we were only able to crawl on about 75% of the area.
Cool FoFF/Bashing area about 200 yards from the comp spot as well.
