Went out for a few packs today found a new comp location. Same area as Tallboys hopefully BLC will use as comp location next season.

video is just some random gates running my comp rig and my loner rig that I just built.

Gate at 6:54 I crawled but battery in GoPro died.

Tapped-out's budget spring retainer cups... so i needed spring retainer cups for my back-up rig plus trying to build with spending little money. I had many extra short axail wb8 drivelines laying around and thought maybe these will work... they work out perfectly.

Rig looks good in practice

How did the knuckle weights and new wheels work out? It looked like you switched wheels mid video

I picked up a set of berg axles from classified section @ a great price... now I'm trying to identify the 2nd and 3rd gears..
Pictures below is from the axles I bought.
Top set of gears are out of the rear axle, bottom are stock berg gears i had laying around. Notice the center of the top set 2nd and 3rd gear.
My question is are they SDS or Mann gears IDK?

Next pictures are 2nd gear from front axle. The black 2nd gear is stock i had laying around. The other 2nd is out of the axle. I know the black gear is stock is the other one SDS or?

Of course I'm hoping for aftermarket 2nd and 3rd gears..
Hopefully one of you guys can identify from pictures.

Are they HR gears? The pitch looks different?

The small 3rd that looks like the long side of the shaft has been ground to get the nipple off is SDS for sure. The others could either be stock or Mann. Both had the countersink in them CKRC did not have the countersink.

From top to bottom my guesses would be:
stock or mann on both top
Stock on both botom
Stock small 3rd, SDS small 3rd

HR gears all had .6mod except the large 2nd gear which was 48p. HR small 3rds are easy to identify because they had a 4mm shaft instead of a 5mm shaft.

Once you actually look at a sds small gear compared to any of the large gears out there, they look like a different pitch or maybe just a different tooth. They almost look worn out when new.

Rc Rock Crawler Championships @ Horsemans park CA. 2016....
Another great comp! Big thanks to Erik (D-lux) and Jake (Delmonte) for doing all of the behind the scenes work and ground work. The judging style we did @ this comp really spread the love throughout all drivers. With some fine tuning, I hope this style of judging catches on for future events/comps. 8 Courses to drive with a wide variety of skill levels to meet the expectations from newbies to veteran drivers. Very well setup courses! Thanks to all of the guys who showed up early to help setup!
I definitely had a blast at this comp and am looking forward to the next BIG COMP. For you guys not into comp class rigs... man are you missing a good time and some great people.

I managed to place 7th out of 34 drivers... my personal best at a larger comp... I'm totally stoked about that..
Here's a couple of videos. I didn't get many videos. After Friday on the rocks all day trying to drive sporty class, I was beat. I do have 22 sporty videos to edit tho.

Tapped,
i just checked all my Mann gears, what you show is an SDS gear...
coloring is a bit different also, from a Mann gear
none of the gears I have, have a brooch in the top like that...
all mann gears that i know of had that brooch in the bottom......

thats my guess....

I won a pr of Ottsix Voodoo silver tires. Thank you Ottsix for the tires. Thank you Erik (Dlux) for shipping them to me..
So my rig will be getting new rubber by next week. I just ordered another pr of voodoos I'll have them next Friday.

BLC season opener is Oct 29th. I have a question about the tires. Do they need a break in period or do you all think they'll be fine for the season opener Oct 29th? with no drive time on them.

I think that they are fine out of the bag Matt, but considering it's the season opener, I would change after...

I agree, better change after the comp.... for me this tires never worked, donīt know why? I think they are perfect for lightweight crawlers,if you drive more weight (knuckleweights) you can also drive tires with bigger lugs,it depends on your personal feeling

Another pr of Ottsix Voodoo silver tires @ 48.78 shipped
And crawler innovations foams @ ............ 39.23 shipped

They take some getting used to. You have to drive them a little differently than a big lug tire. but the extra height you'll get over the rover is really really nice.

I've been really struggling to get the pins to work and finally put rovers back on the front and the mixed combo seems to work better. You probably want to go with what your use to till you can play with the pin setups because you do need a little different driving style than the lugs
