I will try to remember to send you some set screws that I use on those lockouts and link mounts. It will look better and blend into the black.

COOL! I was looking at those large frankenbolts you mentioned wondering what I could do with them. I think I might do some trimming and polishing on the front lower link mounts too. So they match the rears.

Over all I like the axles a lot. They are well laid out, the gear mesh is great, and they feel stronger than what I thought they would be. The adjustability of the links mounts is amazing. I don't know how clocked or how wide im gonna make them.

I've been just as happy with my axles bro. I'm really looking forward to wrapping my build up and getting out! I'm glad you went this direction after reading the first page. I still have a stock set of new berg cases that I know now, I'll never use. Good luck with your build!

I wasn't gonna go this route in the beginning. I was just going to get tubes. A friend hooked me up with these axles at a great price, and I'm glad it worked out this way. I couldn't be happier.

I did run into a snag today, but its no big deal. I was doing some mock up today and found out I do not have zero ackerman knuckles. I have zero ackerman knuckles on the way now.

I run 13's with 35's and don't plan on changing with my new 30's unless I feel a control loss.

Shouldn't your knuckles steering arms be pointing towards the front?

Looks like you are running 8* chubs? I run a steering set up like what you have mocked up. And if I'm not mistaken the zero Ackerman knuckles won't work properly with the 8* chubs.

Yes they should. Since they are not the zero ackerman knuckles I turned them around backwards so the inside tire would turn more than the outside. I was still not happy with that setup so I ordered the zero ackerman knuckles, and will face those forward and use a straight steering link.

No, they are not the 8*. I did look at getting the 8* but at the moment I am trying to stay on a preset budget I made for this build.

P.S. Don't ask what that budget is.

I'm running 14t pinions with 16t motors and haven't had any issues with mine. I have those axles as well and have zero complaints with them. Will be interested to see your thoughts on them when your done.

Karl,

Last week was a wash with parent nights and getting kids ready for school. I managed maybe 2 hours in the shop all week. Good news is I have been cutting parts all day and have a fresh batch of Mutts ready to ship. You should see yours on Wednesday if USPS comes through. If you have any questions on the assembly just give me a shout

Well..... It looks like you found it. The sizes there look really close. Great job so far...... Hopefully there will be something there for you to play with tomorrow too!
