Any chance we could see video of a hydroplane with longer duration? It's cool to see it hit any kind of water but it looks like there are some characteristics that aren't being shown with such a short clip...

Those clips were done without any waterproofing...spur of the moment type of thing. It actually smoothed out the further I went (it hopped around a bit upon entry because I was entering at an angle, so the left side hit the water way before the right side) but some of the better vid clips didn't come out. I'll be taking it back out to the pond once I tear it down and seal it up.

Cool, thanks! If you're taking requests, once you have it waterproofed, can you tie a string to it and aim it towards the middle of the pond and just see how far it can get under power? I know the 1:1s will eventually lose momentum and begin to sink, but one would think that since the scale power:weight ratio is so much higher on these rcs that they might actually be able to sustain hydroplaning for a longer period of time...Just a thought.

Hey, quick question. What size spur and pinion gears are you running?

very nice to hear! even though, i think axial axles can handle the big tires with a little bit of upgrading and a set of the 12mm to 17mm hex adapters that they are using on SC trucks...

also, any hints as to what size WB that set-up is shooting for? are we talking e-maxx size, truggy size, or savage gigante size???

I went out for some more water time today...it's pretty predictable once you get used to how it drives on water. Turning is even pretty doable...the inside front tire lifts a little when steering with my current shock setup...but since I can turn on water, I'll leave it as is

Workin on a short vid now. I had some camera issues but still managed to get a couple of descent clips. I lost a cell on my lipo towards the end so a new battery is an order.

Looks like it's capable of maintaining a hydroplane based solely on it's own power, not just momentum...Oh, the possibilities

Don that is fockin wild, the fact that you can steer on the water is insane. What does the rig weigh as a matter of interest.
