here you can tell the size this is the last for the extenders.on to the next stage...links are next...

here the length there are both at 265mm wide, front and rear..

I went from this .....
to this finish this part now for links..

hope you like it.All of this was done with a file no belt sander here
stay tune for more......
How did u end up extending the front axle? I didn't think the photos showed how u dI'd the front axles or did u use spacers outside the knuckles?

I wanted something different and being a foff racer it gives me little more protection from flying debris..

those are the Wraith front or rear axle that's how they come they are the AR60 that is the stock width and they had to be built.

ya been kinda lacking with the build but didn't forget, was busy fixing up the shop if can call it that. It's a little 6x12 spot where i work in my basement in the corner.
i know it not part of the build but really it is.I had to make room to do the build,it was getting to cluttered and couldn't move around so i fix that problem just 5 pics are from before and after results.
Ok i guess for recycled lumber may paint it up later....
Now on with the build...On my next post I'll update my progress to where i am now after fixing this problem....

here's the clutter stuff I'm taking about oh ya build is right there right beside my trophy i won back in 1988 time flies...

the end result.....

Well Time to check the weight so far 5.4lbs.
Not sure what would be the norm for weight but hey I just want to finish this build so weight not an issue right now. So just trying different things to see what works so i thought i give this a try at internal springs since this is made to go up hill and slide from side to side in soft sand at this point i'm not to worry about suspension i hope may change the set up or maybe some one can tell me if this will work or not i put these small springs i had and the seem to rebound ok i will put grease to..Again i may change this set up.Using this internal spring set up brought my Foff 1/2" lower...from 4" to 3 1/2"....
Aslo having clearence issues with my servo to i think i might have a fix for that..
OK on with the pics.....

here a flex with all links made and with the external spring set up.

here I'm having clearance issues with my drive shaft the was fix with a smaller lenght eyelid i think that what there are called.

Sams spot different angle...

Internal spring set up.This is just a mock up with mish mash of parts and old traxxas shocks... i have smaller springs i may try to try to keep it as low as possible..this Foff is new to me so I'll try my best to get it right.
beside i'm kinda of digging this build and it's all for fun and comment or suggestiions are welcome...
More f**king pics...
stuff i had just laying around doing SFA...

now which one do i pick..
holy crap you never have enough of theses...I know there in there some where...
Ah found them....

well this what I'm with for now. They may not hold up but will see.

here a little experiment for later....a little glimpse.

before.

After with internal springs.

well did a little more work on this foff, just farting around taking my time.
So i thought i just give an update to what i did today....
Made upper cross brace for my shock tower took a while just to get it right had to make it look good from every angle trying to get it to scale.
An old hair blower will do the trick....Enjoy...
I'm using the rear shock towers from the Yeti and putting up it up front on this buildso I needed a brace for my front shock towers.
After this Axial might steal my idea and will replace there scx10 shock towers and use this set up.To me looks more scale...

Had to some trimming.
Now i decided to make some extra support cause i think it look right.
more cutting and bending.
here i'm trying ti get a visual on how it would look chop up it looks out of place so it has to go.
a little trimming will do the trick..
2 cut...
uncut side.
looks better cut off will look better tomorrow..

this is work for tomorrow.

Well not much progress Busy doing other things but here is a little whats been done.
Sanded those funky things sticking out and rounded everything off.
And i didn't have any 32P spur gears so i made one from EXO parts bin and used the sliiper pad and plate from the yeti...will have more updates tonight.....

right side is the finally finished.
the left one is the one i'll be using.
not much but should have the battery trays and panels done soon....

thanks very much, fit and finish is key for me.as for the spur gear i just thought i add that in,i order one from the deadbolt with 32P gears and output shaft.
The one i have on this build is a different output shaft.
Axial makes 2 different output shafts and i happen to have the wrong one that why I had to make a custom spur gear from the EXO spur gear..

I'm sure your EXO gear would last much longer than the axial one anyway.

Well didn't do much since the last time but a little progress..
I decided to shrink wrap the drive shafts just for a little protection, not sure how long it will last in the sand but hell it the Blingmobile. The drive shaft have no problem moving in and out there not completely fuzed together as one ,it wouldn't matter there's only like 1'' to 1 1/2'' of shock travel...

Well Got most of the electronics done just need a place to put my esc instead of having in the open i wanted sealed with a fan so i used the gas tank from the Axial Yeti...
So time to chop and drill some holes in the plastic...
Little photo Bomb,I'll try to explain as i go...

As you can see it won't fit but I'll make it fit...

Had to drill some holes for the wwires from the motor...

Much better....

Now time for the fan........I need the esc to be cool...

So i decided to make tiny holes 1mm drill bit...

Time to trim the fan...

Nice work, damn you have your work cut out for you, so many custom things you have to do, but that's the fun part...well most times.

What kind of body are you going to do?

Ya your right about that,it does seems to look simply but in fact it was a little work...I'm happy with the results and the best part i'm almost finish. Just need to make the battery trays.....Ya i like to have inside body panels inside the cage but if that doesn't pan out I'll take the easy way out and slap on a body the post are there to put body on...
Yep body and battery location are the only things left to do, I hope....
