I was only browsing the traxxas forums, i'm not a member. I'm more into crawling also.

Well i take back what i said about Salita yesterday, took her out for its first tarmac run and damn its quick, and of course the batteries were finally juiced right up. I'm going to make another roll cage for it, i want total rtr weight to be under 5kg, easily achievable.

Well for 30mins i drove it hard, i will admit the weather was very cold, around 6degress, so the motor never got warm, and the esc took quite awhile to warm up..so gearing up wont be a problem, its laughing at current set up.

But instead of gearing up, i'll volt up first and see how it goes when i run lipos in series.

Dust off the webs and make another Foff? I thought you were going to do a 1/8 foff already?

See All it takes is a few runs and now you want to keep it .Yup bigger batteries and in series you might be a to pull of the water skipping run.
Well with the slash all i would have to do is put paddles on it...
I'm still going to do the 1/8 eventually....

Yeah I was too quick to judge, batteries weren't right, but once they were I was impressed. I'll keep the 18T and will just volt up. Looked quick in the footage though, but hard to launch on wet tarmac but a lot of fun. Will have some better footage soon.

Well haven't done much lately Except for the body panels....I wanted to do the panels on the inside just to show the cage rather then hiding it on top of the cage.Rather then taking the whole thing apart to get at the cage i was lazy and made the panel with every thing together...
Not sure if i should do the body panels or go with the 89 chev body.
with the panel there is no way to screw anything so would have to go with black zip ties.
The body it's rare and hate to cut it up but looks nice.Maybe I could go with both, but here are the panels this are just mock up was kinda of tricky to cut to fit but after 2 or 3 hrs later this is what i came uo with....

the body is made by Andy.I think they still make bodies cause the have a web site....

I just noticed the rating on this thread has been dropped one star...wtf?

I'm tempted to do a you know what.

Oh and in protest of this...i'm pulling my thread, no more photos or videos that it.

And i'm not one to leave a thread sitting here when its never going to be finished, that's just embarrassing, it gets removed and that's that.

yes i did notice that to what's up with that....that's not right.
If any thing it should stay right at 5 stars over 200 replies and over 2000 views don't make sense at all..

And was thinking the same thing no more build thread to much work to get shit on and a lot of effort went into our build...

It's all about scale here .....
EDIT:We have over 3000 views....

Ignoramus is the one who thought he would revive such a dead old thread, well not revive, but you know what i mean.

Ha ha no Honcho Joe is a good friend mate, he's the one who wired up my 35T cans for my first moa crawler.

Build is finished yep, will soon run a couple of 3S in series and make another roll cage for it. But that will be later, for now its done and dusted.

Your funny...32 like notifications? He he

If my cage wasn't so heavy my total RTR weight would have been 4.8kg.

You know that video i did playing on a basketball court with the other tyres and no cage?

It was very fast and i managed to pull some rubber off one of the rear rims, was ok just had to tuck it back in.

Yeah the scale dirt bike will be pretty epic...you wont want to miss it.

Went to take the Foff O/S with me, but she's just too freaking large, if my sudo pro was ready i could have taken that....and my fpv quad racer is in the mail...so i have nothing to take with me to show my girl, she likes my crawler more anyway...the Foff is scary to her.
Back in around 2 weeks...when i get back i hope to see some footage.

SCALE DIRT BIKE YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

well I decided to make panels instead of using the body,it's a little more work but hey what isn't work in this hobby...
Not much just panels....
I have no place to for screws so it be all tied down with tie wraps a little primitive but it works for me..
I also man some panels for the front and rear .

My special bending machine.....well it works....

Panels are losely on just mock up....next time will be painted...

well here we go again.Didn't like where my Rx was so i move it to a new location....it fits nice and snug behind there hope it's ok...

Need feedback I like know how i could protect it from sand only since it's an Foff only.....
I was going to use the bent aluminum but would be to much work .so i found a solid sheet 2mm thick east to bent and once bent it's very strong...

here paper mock up....

As you can see this were i want to move it.

I also painted my battery trays didn't like the silver..

now back to work...

Well painted the panels with krylon paint and used stone texture paint I wanted just yellow but had some of the stone texture paint and i thought maybe i make it look like kevlar texture..anyways tried a sample on some aluminum and it doesn't seem to peel so this is the end results...
I also made little small slits for the tie wraps before painting....

A little tape so it doesn't blow away while spray painting..

Krylon seem to work on aluminum...tested on the bent twisted one on the right...

I like the yellow but to shiny.
so make it stone almost like rock guard.

two coat ya panels are there some where...
