What's the cheapest price you've seen these kits? They are on sale right now for $220 shipped from China. This is the assembly kit not the RTR.

Got it on Thursday afternoon. First impressions: The parts/tool bag wasn't zipped shut so the spares were scattered everywhere throughout the box, but everything was there, including the extra grub screw for the driveshafts/lock the diff (which I've done to the rear) The shocks suck. All the oil that was once in them... isn't anymore. But it was all over the boots. There must not have been a whole lot to begin with though, as the body didn't have drips on it, nor the tires or bottom on the styrofoam coffin the truck comes in. I tried rebuilding one and it simply doesn't hold oil. I'm tempted to try some x-rings. I did remove the external springs from all 4 though. One rear body post is stripped in the mount. I'll probably just glue it in. The shift servo saver is crap. The spring has no real spring, it just bends, then is loose. Will pick up something else. My plan is to pick up a Mountain Rider/Mountaineer rear window and remove the sleeper, as I've never liked it. Not sure if I'll put a rollbar in the bed or not. Overall, being a third to a quarter the cost of the real thing, I'm happy with it. |

I got mine about 2 weeks ago. Looked it over and decided its just as junky as the real thing. I restacked the springs, so they would actually flex and took it out for a bash. Transmission shifted really nice, but other than that I was like, meh. Sooooo, I figured I would convert it to a crawler. Started looking into axle, hub and wheel mods, and decided to chuck the axles fir something else. Sooooo, I narrowed the rear of the frame, raised the transmission, changed over to Sawback springs and Kamodo axles. Other than the front output on the transmission hanging to low, I think it will now be a fun and usable little rig. Damn, I just about started a build thread lol.
