Be wary that the motor will wear fast. You will need to rebuild it every 20 to 30 minutes of runtime, and possibly more so when you get into water and mud. Putting an outerwear type filter on it would be a good idea.

Alternatively you could use a big brushless motor. I have some customers using the Tekin T8 motors. They aren't cheap, but they are a big step above a 540 in power (and weight).

Thanks John. I will look into the T8. That is sounding like the way to go. I didn't see on your site.

Hey John, I need another 45t torquemaster pro to go with one I have already. I'm your running your 45t pro along with a 45t tekin pro on my xr10 because your motors are so damn popular I couldn't find one when I needed it but want matched motors, whats the eta on the 45t standard flavor(5mm, standup etc). Do you think there is an issue with my setup now?? Thx Kurt

I think your setup sounds just fine. We have some 45t singles we can build up here on 5mm or 4mm web. You won't be able to get a good match on the motor unless you send it here. We can at least get close though.

I will recharge the site with a few more 45t single motors.

Hey John, I just ordered a pro handwound torquemaster motor from you. I bought a 45 turn 5mm web motor, but I didn't know what to put as the timing. I dont know much about that subject as I stated in my comments for the purchase, just wondering what would be best for motor longevity.
Thanks Josh.

Zero to 6 degrees works best, depending on voltage. The higher the voltage, the higher the timing needed.

On two cells, not really. 6 degrees would be safe though. I am not sure what direction the pinion spins, CW or CCW for forward direction. I need that info.

john, the pinion spins counter clock wise for forward movement. what will the 6 degree increase in timing do? and will that affect motor life? i want to do whatever will help the longevity of the motor.

thank you

Three to six degrees is just fine for long motor life. Thanks for the info, that is "normal" forwards timing.
