Hi John, I am looking at getting a new motor and ESC and I hear alot of good things about your product. I am currently running a Rooster crawler with a 55T motor in a SCX10. I would like to get more speed but not lose any torque or low speed control. I am thinking about going with your BR-XL and a 30T or 35T motor. Will the brake on the BR-XL hold better than the Rooster crawler? and will the 30T or 35T give me both more wheel speed and torque? I see that you have a crawl master and a torque master, what is the difference in the two? can you give me your recomendation on which set up would work the best? I will be running the truck on trails and in local rock crawling competions. Thank you for your help and advise.

The TorqueMaster ESC can be set up with stronger hold or drag brake as compared to the Rooster. When set up strongest in Hold mode it will basically hold a motor at stall until the ESC starts backing off.

It sounds like you are using a machine wound or can motor. Going to a finer construction of motor can give you better low speed resolution, control, power, torque, and higher speed. I would suggest a 35t on 3s for a pretty nasty kick. Alternatively you could swap a handwound armature into your existing motor and get a good bump too.

The Crawlmaster motor crawls slower and has superb control, but makes less power. The TorqueMaster has a higher power to weight ratio and acceleration snap. Both can work "best" depending on what you want.

is a handwound armature to install in my motor something that I can get from you and is it something that I can install my self or do you need special tools? I still want to get one of your motors and ESC, but I have 2 Roosters and 3 trucks so if I could swap out the armature on mine maybe I would be happy with it until I could get some extra money to purchase a second unit from you. Thank you for all your help.

Whats the deal with the two different pullers on your site. Pretty big price difference.

You can indeed drop it in yourself with a bit of shimming. Otherwise the tools that I would use to rebuild your motor includes a zapper, hood alignment tool, parts washer, and dyno. The difference would be that I could make the motor produce more power, but I wouldn't say that having them professionally built is required by any means.

Default Large scale motor options

Building a large scale truck that will weigh in at the 15-20 pound range. Already have my mamba max pro, and it will be running a very large 4s lipo thru a fully beefed axial trans. I'm 99% sure I want a brushless sensored inrunner, but dont know which one.

Still waiting on the release of the puller pro 550, but I saw a tekin T8 in a truggy at motorama this weekend, and was thinking I might be able to shoehorn it into my AX trans. and then there is this tekin roc412 I've read a little about, and now I'm just more confused on which way to go...

Recomendations?

Thanks for any help -Brian

Right now the T8 from tekin will be the fastest route. I have sent a few to team drivers and they really like them. It is basically a 1515 framed motor if I recall correctly.

The roc412 is taking a long time to get to market. Jim said he would let me know when they get them done, I will certainly be carrying them in the store. Maybe I should get some t8 motors in too?

Thanks for the fast response. Im assuming that your failure to even mention the puller pro, a release date is nowhere in sight? Guess I'd want to run the lowest KV available in the T8?

I want the PP cause its HH, and its anod'd black...

Yeah, I don't have a firm release date on it. I ran into some unanticipated issues with getting them made like I wanted.

Well since I can't buy the puller pro, I'd like to buy the 1350kv T8 from you if possible. Should be #tt2364

Pottersmachine@gmail.com for an invoice please.

I will contact you when I get them in. I don't like taking money without goods in hand.

I asked a question within an order I just sent but then I found the answer in the fine print on the product description. The product description text is tiny on your site

Hey though I realized that I could use another pair of those springs so if you can, I'd like a pair of those jokers. Let me know the cost and paypal address or I can email you on the site whichever you prefer

It would be better to place another order, and I can combine them and credit you the shipping.

About 4 to 6 weeks. I had to switch factories, and they will be coming back with better quality.
