I'm lookin at going 3s soon (big leap from nimh!). Should I expect any issues with the 35T sport motor on my AX10 comp crawler? I'm also running the BRXL ESC.

Nay, you will have no issues other than the motor wearing out faster.

Good to hear! Hope it's not too much faster?

Guess when it does wear out it's a good excuse to go handwound

Hey John,

The replacement cobalt puller parts on your site, is that all you have left in stock and will ever have in stock, or do you think you'll be able to carry some things like the brushes and springs regularly in the future? Just wondering for stocking up purposes!

I have plenty of brushes here, I do need to see if I can get more springs easily.

Any update on the 1.08 firmware for the br-xl? My gearing and 6" Rovers are killing me on low speed control. I may have to trade for a sidewinder, or would you recommend another esc?

No 1.08 firmware yet. I totally feel you, we are pushing daily to get that done. A tekin or mamba/ sidewinder would work for you right now if you can't gear down a bit.

HEY JOHN!!!!!!!!

guess what!!?!?!

I learned how a brushed motor works last night!!!!

i figured why the motor stopped workin!

LOL i bent the hood, crushed a brush, broke the lil springy, motor tab and cracked my endbell.....

so i sat down w/ like 2 integys and an old a warrior last night and tore all 3 motors apart to rebuild my 35t TM!!!

Brushes are brittle. LOL i broke a few in the process.

but I fraken fixed yours w/ a warrior brush and endbell and 2 integy hoods, BUT

with you infinite knowledge........ anything i should like, check or verify before i take her out again!?!?!

and you have brushes I can buy right?

I do have brushes. Nothing special you should need to check, just be sure it doesn't run hotter than normal. No reason that it should really.

Default Motor springs

John,

I have 2 Integy pro 45t motors on my Berg. The truck took a fall and one of the motor springs popped off my rear motor. (can't find it anywhere)
Would like to order 3 sets of purple springs if I could. The brushes are in great shape as of now. Please let me know what I need to do. Could not find springs on the HH website.

Thanks,
Neil

John,

Looking to get a new motor from you..... In process of revamping my whole rig. Believe I would like to go with a 45t, my question is which one, your sport or pro model. What advantages would I have with the Pro on the following setup?

Just went 3s lipo, first timer with these.
Bought the FXR from you last week.
Ax10 based rig, with factory spur & pinion

Thank you for any thoughts/recomendations,
jeff

Go to brushed motors- replacement parts- torquemaster replacement parts

The heavy springs there will fit your motor, equivalent or a bit stiffer than purple.

You will have less stalling with the pro motor, in general a lot more power and better braking.

Both motors will certainly get the job done however. It just depends on if you want more torque than your current motor gives you.

So, John. Got some more questions.

When i put the 35t TM back together, i had to use an old brush from another motor.

I was crawling w/ it for about 30 mins last night, and then got a bad grinding noise from the motor....

do you think that would be because the old brush i used is chitty and its not flush on the comm....

or do you think i effed something else up during my franken-assembly?

It could have been the brush, or you could have gotten some crap in the motor while crawling. Take her apart again and check it out! Grinding is never good.

Thank you for the reply, I went ahead and ordered the sport for now. Seems like I am motor challanged, burning them up. Although I am wondering if it was just my old ESC (rooster) helping that out?

thanks again...

Nah, you probably just run them hard or need to clean them more often.

i hope so. LOL it didnt seem too complex when i was putting it back togeather.....

but that doesnt mean im not fully capable of effin it up....

Can I like, sand down or file the old brush, or should i just hound the locals for another brush?
